If I was in Texas not FL , I’d go see your Dr.
Unfortunately that’s not an option for me .
I deep wet belch over 1000x day / night ( the worst being 5-8 am ) and Noon 🕛 til 3 pm .
Sometimes it’s over 2000x .
No acid but they are very deep non stop wet belches .
I am very careful w/ my diet for years and years and even did Keto and Gluten free which neither helped me .
I’ve given up on any Gastro Drs here in FL . I went to Mayo Clinic. Jacksonville , spent 4 k for 3 outpatient tests in 2021 and even that Dr had same 6 diagnosis but really couldn’t help me . It’s ongoing battle , plus it really makes me so fatigued because I don’t sleep 💤 well even taking Ambien.
I love hearing that people actually get better ❤️‍🩹. You are def one of the lucky 🍀 ones . Thanks …

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through, I just can't even imagine belching so many times 🥺🥺I thought 120 times was excessive, I'm not 100% since I'm constantly have to clear my throat and sometimes I feel something stuck in my throat so I hope it's just allergies but I have an appointment with the ENT tomorrow 🙏🏻, I know of someone that came from Florida to see my surgeon, Dr Elias Darido and it went really well but I really hope you find the cure 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I also suffer from excessive belching. I sound like a grown man. All of my drs tell me I'm sucking air from anxiety and stress and that I move my tongue alot. I've tried everthing I can think of. I stay tried from it and it itself causes stress.

Yes they always want to blame us for having anxiety or swallowing too much or taking in too much air . None of which is true .
I do get some anxiety from all of this , living w/ it for 10 years daily . Trying everything under the sun to help it . 6 Gastro Drs and still no relief 🥲. It truly does ruin day to day life .
I have .50 mg Klonopin I take as needed , if I get too stressed.
Who deep wet belches 1000 x a day . It’s so abnormal and triggers my PVCs sometimes. I take diff supplements through the years and tried diff RX’s . None worked . It causes so much fatigue too .
I’ll pray 🙏 that one day we will be healed .

Hello, I guess it just depends on the surgeon, I am able to burp and I still do after the surgery, as a matter of fact, the first week was excessive burps like 120 every day but now it's normal, my sister had that surgery 20 years ago, and at first she was not able to throw up but thank God nothing ever happened. Now over time, she is able to throw up if she needs to. Sucralfate is a great medicine, I took it for a long time and it stopped working. I hope you get a lot better and God bless 🙏🏻

I sent my friend in Texas that Drs info you went to . She lives in Belton , Texas.
What a coincidence.. she has had an appt w/ that Dr. Coming up in Jun (had to wait 6 months to get in )! He must be very good . I googled him and sent her that info . It’s so weird that she is going there too . I guess if you’re in Texas , he’s the guy to see .

I have had excessive belching for about 5 yrs now. It's not always to the same degree though. I was pretty good all summer but now it has flared up again were I am belching approx 200 times a day. It seems to be better when lying down but as soon as I get up I belch. Any suggestions on what is wrong exactly

I had a hiatal hernia (large!) corrected by surgery and it stopped all belching, pain, and inability to eat certain foods.
There are many causes so diagnosis is important.

I am very similar , 6 years , many tests , nothing shows up , restrictions of many foods , burping every few seconds at times , laying down on my back with legs at 90 deg angle up a wall and breathing into diaphragm, is the only thing i have found that helps also …

Chronic belching 10 years

I have worked with 5 GI specialists, but nothing has worked. Only one appeared to take a real interest in me and this condition, I think others had mentioned much more serious things to deal with and burping disorder seemed like no big deal ( but it is!). A couple admitted on day one that chronic conditions/habits like thus for a 63-72 year old rarely can be helped by much of anything. All the alternative and western medicine care listed below has not been even slightly helpful. The drugs and therapies and tests and dieting seriously have had no effect whatsoever. This may not be life threatening, but seriously affects the quality of my life 24/7. If you are in a hurry, you can skip over my laundry list below, just know nothing has worked so far, and problem is likely not physiological.

Baclofen , Pregbalin , Antacids , prescription Prilosec for several months,
FODMAP diet 6, 2, 3 month periods, no positive or negative foods.
SIBO( borderline ) three times. antibiotics, natural supplements, slippery elm, homeopathic remedies, calcium- magnesium, tums for indigestion ( not very often)
Barium swallow test (showed slight leakage of epiglottis, and I cough when eating sometimes, usually due to spicy food)
Stomach emptying test ( fast, 20 minutes)
2017, 2021 endoscopies, not remarkable. Rules out celiac, ulcers
Allergy testing
Biofeedback to eliminate mouth breathing and learn diaphragmatic breathing through nose between speaking phrases. ( failed at this)
Acupuncture, visceral manipulation, homeopathic and naturopathic remedies. Slippery elm tea ( calmed uncomfortable stomach, maybe reduced gas in stomach and gut.)
Fiber supplement every day, about I-2 teaspoon works. I have diverticulitis in colon , no other colon issues.
I eat slowly and carefully, mindful of talking.

After many days of reading online on reputable sites including Mayo, to learn more about the anatomy, supragastric and gastric belching and intestinal gas, causes and conditions and treatments, I have read about several studies that found success with cognitive behavioral therapy and speech therapy, based on the conclusion/assumption that belching syndromes like mine that don’t have a physiological explanation are due to a learned or chosen behavior ( although probably mostly subconscious in my case). I don’t have much anxiety about anything in my life ( except belching !), and reading about CBT seems to only point to “anxiety “ disorders as a possible approach for eating related issue.

Does anyone have personal or clinical experience to share about belching, CBT, maybe hypnotherapy.? I would really appreciate hearing your story and lessons learned. Thanks so much!

It was amazing to read your about your disorder. I too have a similar disorder. I have had all these tests and tried many of these medicines and CBT. For awhile I was also diagnosed with gastroparesis. I am also in the same age range. I am now using a vagus nerve stimulator. It seems to help a little but certainly not enough. I also started this condition 2 weeks after the Covid vaccine. Does anyone have this connection? I have noticed that anxiety makes the belching worse. Please let me know if anyone has any other ideas.
Thanks

I have felt deathly ill after the last covid booster.BTW I am not anti vax. But since then I am a mess of constant pain, belching, depression and bathroom issues every day. I have had just about every test.
Nothing abnormal. How can this be when I’m sick every day.
