ITP and erratic medication
My Husband was recently put on to Avatrombobag from Eltrombobag.
We find this medication so erratic, he is on 1x20mg daily and can his range can be from 20-316 in one week. We have tried five per week, seven a week, alternate days leaving Sundays out, but as yet still erratic.
Weekly blood test are taking there toll on him, he had to have three Platelet transfusions in the month of June. Does anyone else find this medication difficult, and any solutions would be welcome. He has had this now for three years. He is 82 so would I not like to him to go down the operation route.

@agfromtheuk, I believe that @merchant700 has experience with avatrombopag (brand name Doptelet) and can share their experiences. You may also be interested in this related discussion:

Has your husband continued with avatrombopag? How is he doing? How are YOU doing?
Hi, Yes my Husband Alex is still on them trying all sort of routines, one every day, one every other day, double doses on three days etc, but we cannot get a stable level, his range is between 1 (a trip to A&E) up to 565 (Last week). Alex is 82 and also and to say the whole thing wears him down is an understatement, at the moment its two blood tests a week. He has had to have three Platelet transfusions since June, since he started them. He was on Eltrombobag (Revalade 75mg) but his levels were going down and I believe there was a risk of a thrombosis, he has already had a Stroke, they tried to say it was because of undiagnosed high blood pressure, but it just happened to be on the same weekend he started the Eltrombobag. So we are just plodding on, I am not sure what the answer is or will be. I just don't think these pills are compatible with Alex. I am fine thank you, thank you for asking. I just feel for Alex.
