I didn't know that a pancreas transplant was possible. Is this new? How frequent? Is the new pancreas human or from a pig? How successful is this procedure? And how much does it extend life?

Hi @johnnyp, I wouldn’t classify pancreatic transplant as new. Surgeons perform nearly 50 pancreas transplants each year at Mayo Clinic's three sites in Minnesota, Florida and Arizona. You can read more here:
