Welcome @jjarvis, Sorry to hear the treatment didn't help with the pain and came with it's own side effects. I only have the numbness with my neuropathy so there aren't any drugs that help with numbness. You bring up a great point and one that I would definitely discuss with your doctor about the side effects causing colon flare-ups.
