Anyone had experience with OsteoStrong, who is not a franchisee?

Has anyone had experience with OsteoStrong? It suggests you will get a large increase in bone density while using their facility 10 minutes per WEEK. Somewhat pricey at $99 and up per month, but am curious if anyone who is NOT a franchisee, has experienced this program?

I found this too as it seems to be used for marketing. Couldn’t find an actual research paper tho. I did wonder if it was sponsored by Osteostrong. I do want to believe that this will help but my Dr is not convinced. Monash uni in Victoria are about to do a study so fingers crossed for good results.

I searched Google Scholar for this study, using lots of different keywords and each of the author's names - no result. Makes me think the PDF is all there is. And I dislike that they did not disclose their source of funding for the study.

So, I guess the "jury is still out" as far as Osteostrong for osteoporosis - though their were some prett conclusive studies for astronauts. Unfortunately - that level of fitness is far behind most of us.

I have osteoporosis and I tried Osteostrong twice. I ended up with a collapsed lower back with compression fractures from the machine that you push above your head. I was pushing it, I will say, trying to do too much obviously, but my PT says there are many who come for PT who have been injured there. Be careful. Don’t overdo.

I’m so sorry to hear you hurt yourself there. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It warns the rest of us to be careful.

I am two weeks into Osteostrong so I don't have feedback on whether I have improvement. I'll post if I do.
I am also considering getting MBST treatment in Europe. Got interested after watching a presentation through OsteoBoston. Looking for feedback on that too.

Hi,
Please keep me posted on MBST treatment in Europe. I will start researching also.
Thank you Arely

I have no direct experience with them other than taking my wife there after her having broken bones for her 10-15 minute session. She started after fracturing both bones in her left leg. I do not believe the claims they make. Why aren’t they shut down? All the data I have reviewed are unclear at best regarding efficacy. On an anecdotal note. Since her leg fracture she took 2 years of Forteo. The night after she took her last dose, she fractured her right ankle. She had also had approximately 2 years of Osteostrong . She sees an osteorheumotologist too. Her bone density hadn’t improved either. Now after 6 years of Osteostrong and 4 years of Prolia and walking 2 miles every day, she fractured her left ankle. She may be an outlier. However, I find it preposterous that 10 minutes of Osteostrong once a week could arrest or reverse bone loss. My question is, where is the best center in the US for patients with osteoporosis? Who is doing cutting edge research or clinical trials? She’s not but 63.

Hi @smittysmith2, Your wife is fortunate to have you in her corner, and I am sorry for the pain she's experiencing.
In researching osteoporosis, I found Dr. Loren Fishman, who has an ongoing study of selected yoga poses for osteoporosis, which increase bone density. He is on the faculty of Columbia University Medical School. It may be worthwhile to google him, find his interviews, etc.
I don't know anything about Osteostrong, but found this interview with its founder, Dr. John Jaquish with Dr. Doug Lucas, a retired orthopedic surgeon, now speacializing in bone health.

I've often wondered, like you, where the cutting edge research on osteoporosis is being done.
