Ditto dloos! All the doctor's I've seen (and that is many!) 25+ tell me it's anxiety but are clueless in treating it properly. We are all stuck in the PTSD mode due to Covid and creating this nightmare in our body and mind impacting our central nervous system stuck in "fight or flight" mode 24/7.

I feel like I just ant to jump out of my skin! Just be normal again and I can barely function, drive, etc

I posted a question around this topic asking others what antidepressants worked for them. I know all of us are different, but if we can compare notes and hopefully all work together, in spite of care from these doctors who don't know a thing about LT Covid, maybe we can help one another.

Has anyone reading this post tried Zoloft, Escitalopram, Paxil, etc? Those are the SSRI's and I know there are the next set of medications known as SSNI's (I believe that's the acronym).

Hi summerof42
Like you I have seen maybe 30 different doctors. I have an appointment with PA of the only doctor near me with a long Covid protocol. It’s not until the end of Oct. lol
On the SSRI, SSNI note: I have tried Trazodone, Atarax,Remeron, Zoloft, Effexor, and Nortriptyline.
None of them helped me. Later I saw that almost all of these drugs are ototoxic. My ears are my worst symptom! I purposely did not look at side effects on these drugs because I wanted to keep an open mind. After so many, I DID do a little research. They are very hard on ears. If you have tinnitus, hyperacusis, pressure in your ears....(that’s ME), these drugs are not the answer.
I suppose doctors prescribe these things with the thought that the side effects are RARE. Maybe not.
Anyway, I’m sorry I can’t give a thumbs up for antidepressants. I know people do get help from them. I wish I did too.
Maybe others on this site can give you their experience. I do believe my symptoms are not the usual.
As I mentioned, I’m still seeing different doctors. I’ll post anything positive that comes my way.
Good luck to us all.

Hang in there, Iam not a specialist on the medications. It is good to know Iam not alone with these episodes but I hope you feel better soon.
Take care PAUL
