Stage 1b non small lung Cancer and Keytruda: What to expect?

@lynguist, that's great news. I hope you continue to feel better, it's so hard to drag ourselves out of that low place. It sounds like you are taking steps in the right direction.

I don't need any additional treatment. My cancer was removed and, so far, all subsequent CT Scans are stable and negative. I have to deal with my mental health. I have not been coping well. Instead of doing things to help myself, I'm not exercising, eating as well as I used to, vaping medical marijuana for my RSD pain. I'm not handling life well. I attend both a Zoom Women's Group & an Eating Disorders Group weekly, but I stopped seeing my therapist privately. It's as if I don't care anymore.

Love yourself anyway throughout this non-caring period. It will pass. All difficulties pass. Nothing stays the same. At a minimum, please walk every day. When my own lung cancer was removed, and I was able to walk further than a few blocks, I vowed to give my lungs and body an "oxygen flood" every day. I feel that is a way to keep those CT Scans clear. I believe it. It's also good for your mood and your brain function. Make a promise to yourself to walk. Make a promise to yourself to come out better than you even were before. And this may possibly sound far out to you, but there is a practice called Earthing (also known as Grounding) which is walking on the ground, preferably grassy ground. Or you could use a "grounding mat" in your bed or on the floor under your computer table. It lets your body connect with the Earth's free electrons and helps rebalance your own internal electrical systems. It is known to reduce pain and, so importantly, to reduce inner stress. When I do it, I can just feel stress rising up and out of me. Earthing also helps a person get a good night's sleep. There is a book all about it titled Earthing, and you can also find articles online about Earthing or Grounding--how it works and the benefits.
Next, don't let yourself keep giving you negative messages. Your self does not need that. Start listening to people like Tony Robbins, or Lewis Howes, or Jay Shetty. Then there's the functional medicine doctor, Mark Hyman. He talks about gut health and how it's related to brain health and pretty much the health all through your body.
That pain, yes, that would get you down. I see another way to treat it is with "cold therapy." I wonder if that would help.
Finally, that vaping. That cannot be good for your lungs. You could be making trouble there. I hope you feel better, soon. I am happy for you having had your cancer removed. That is a great thing! Me, too!

I agree. I'm on an anti-depressant, but I stopped working out, which helped my mental state a lot. I am re-joining the Gym on Monday and will find a Support Group and an individual therapist....I need to change my crappy attitude.

You can! You can! Really! The moment you said "I need to change my crappy attitude," you started heading in the right direction.
Think about this--a gut that doesn't have enough good bacteria in it can make a person depressed. Are you taking a good probiotic? Are you eating salads and vegetables?
And rejoining the gym. Being at a gym has helped me so much! I hope it helps you!

I went and I was so happy. I sweat for the first time in 4 years. It feels so uplifting (no pun intended, haha).

@lynguis- Welcome to Mayo Connect. That is a nightmare story that you have lived through. I can't believe all the drugs that you were given at once. What had they been thinking? Did you keep all of your labs, scans, and tests from that hospital? If you have, don't throw them out if you decide to take legal action against them.

I'm so sorry that you went through this horrible time. If if can ask, are you taking anything for your illnesses now?

All the lab work and progress reports from hospital will be posted on the Internet page of the institution. I always print them out also.

I have gone several times this past week and hired a trainer for Pilates twice and weights once. I smile the entire time I'm there, sweating!
