Can any substance be put in between bones to keep from rubbing togethe
Severe pain inside inner thigh. Doc said arthritis in hip. Don’t want surgery. Is there anything that can be added in between bones to prevent from rubbing together?

So sorry to hear that😢😢😢
I started having pain in the groin inner thigh area in January 2021. I would get this pain after jogging. I had a 4 runner at the time and it became painful for me to lift my right leg to get in the car. At first i thought it was because i was overdoing my run as i had been sideline from running with a shoulder injury for 4 months. I continued to jog. It did not hurt while running only afterwards and i had limited movement of that leg. It did not improve so i saw my PCP who had an xray taken and diagnosed osteoarthritis. Imsaw a PT and got some exercise to do. This didn’t alleviate the problem . A few months later i saw an orthopedic surgeon. He took more xrays and told me i was a candid for hip replacement. I was not ready for surgery at this time. I continued to exercise and run . Finally a year later i went back to the orthopedist- i was ready for surgery. I was not able to continue my exercise routine and i could see myself becoming more limites in activities. When insaw him and sais I was ready for survery, he said he was surprised i held out that long. I had the surgery, developed anemia, but i went to PT twice a week for about 2 1/2 months . I started going back to the gym. 7 1/2 months post THR i am easing back into jogging with a plan from my PT. It was not the quick recovery that many people told me it would be, but i can say i am glad i had the surgery. My range of motion in that hip/leg is 100% better and i am working on getting my strength back.

Thank u
Have you seen a doctor to help diagnose the problem ? When i saw the orthopedist, he told me my xray showed bone on bone. I was able to delay surgery for a year after that, but the limitations on my activity helped me decide to have the surgery.
Yes- saw the X-ray- bone on bone. Do not want surgery. Still too risky to me😕
I am sorry you have had difficult times with these procedures. My initial hip replacement was so easy, painless really. Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City was wonderful, as was my surgeon. I do have concerns with revisions since that is a more difficult process.
Why do u Ned revisions on your hip surgery?
The life span of this replacement was given as fifteen years. I am trying to 'baby' it with fewer impact movements, more water, bike, etc. But it does, now and then, feel a little 'loose'. I'm having it looked at in December and hoping I can avoid the revision.
