Careful with the Flonase as steroid nasal sprays are known to cause dryness. And long term usage has not really been studied. Skin is skin and the nasal epithelial skin is so delicate. It’s hard for people to use topical steroids continuously on regular skin without causing skin atrophy.
It’s amazing to me that most topical steroid treatments for skin conditions is on an as needed basis, but with these nasal sprays people are told to use them daily with no end in sight. I (personally) believe you trade one thing for another. IF allergies are truly your issue, you shrink the tissue, yet then cause dryness and irritation.

I person think OTC nasa steroids are promoted too loosely. And can cause harm to certain people. So if it’s not doing much for you, I’d consult with your doctor if this is now the possible reason for your dryness and congestion.

Not sure I would say dryness. It seems that my nasal passage just swells and closes. I think I am on too much Steroids. Generic Flonase and Prednisone. I actually stopped taking the generic Flonase for a time because I see no results. Then I had the severe ear ache and resulting hearing loss and the ENT doc told me to start taking it again plus Azelastine, which also has not produced any noticeable results.
