Something in my neck is popping out of place

I have had the exact same problem for years on the right side of my neck. I don’t know if any of you have also experienced this, but I’ll also get a deep throbbing pain in the same place, but on the left side, that stays for about a week each time. I’ve had several ultrasounds that haven’t found anything abnormal, but I have another ENT appointment this week.

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and, interestingly, I know of two other people with EDS that have the same throat issue. The only medical condition that I’ve been able to find that might fit the symptoms is Clicking Larynx Syndrome. It occurs when the cartilage on the sides of the thyroid is too big and it interferes with the movement of the hyoid bone, causing pain and a clicking sound. There are several medical articles that discuss recent cases that you can find on Google.

I will let you know if I find out anything at my next appointment!
