Angiosarcoma of the breast caused by previous breast radiation
I have recently been diagnosed with an angiosarcoma in my breast. The doctors say it was probably caused by previous radiation of that breast following a lumpectomy about 6 years ago. They tell me it is extremely rare. Has anyone had any experience with this kind of breast cancer?

Just had left mastectomy due to secondary angiosarcoma after lumpectomy and radiation treatments 3+ years ago.Looking for current information on follow up treatment.
Hi @bardona, welcome. I wonder if either of these existing discussions are relevant to your situation?

I am encouraged by your text. I just had a mastectomy this month of my left breast for angiosarcoma. It was caused by the radiation treatment I had after a Lumpectomy for lobular breast cancer 3 and a half years ago. The current plan is observation along with scans and blood tests. I was hoping for this kind of follow-up rather then chemo or more radiation.
Prayers you will remain cancer free.
Yes. Thank you Colleen.
this is Mulkey 518 - yes I would love to join this group - what do I need to do.
thank you
I had angiosarcoma in my upper right side chest-- but NOT breast!
Many years ago I had Melanoma in my right arm. No radiation, just extensive surgery.
My right arm has always been somewhat swollen, besides having a bad scar, I've always wondered if the melanoma was connected with the angiosarcoma. Never got a clear answer from any doctor!
Hi @mulkey518, simply by posting to this discussion, you are part of the group. 🙂
What treatment are you or did you have for angiosarcoma? How are you doing?

Had a melanoma on my shoulder which was taken off on a out patient basis. Was a boating person when my daughter was growing up so to much sun. If u get a chance let me know how you are doing.
I was recently diagnosed with an atypical vascular lesion on the far outside of my breast. This is in the region of radiation that I had in 2018 after chemo and surgery. My pathology report stated a excisional biopsy was needed to exam for possible angiosarcoma. I'm losing my mi d, while trying not to at the same time. Was yours post radiation? If so, what is your treatment? Any support from you or anyone that has gone through this is so greatly appreciated.
Hi, I was recently diagnosed with an atypical vascular lesion. Waiting for biopsy results to see if it's angiosarcoma. I pray to God it's not. But to be ahead of this just in case. How long after radiation did you develop angiosarcoma? How long was it there before you found it? How did your treatments go? I appreciate any guidance and support you can provide.
