Anyone else been tested for Kappa and Lambda light chins free serum in connection with peripheral neuropathy?

Hello @lynsorensen, I have not heard of kappa light chains before but did find some information from Mayo Clinic's News Network:
http://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-ids-immune-system-glitch-tied-to-fourfold-higher-likelihood-of-death/
I also did a search on Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/) using the search term "kappa light chains cause neuropathy" and it found quite a bit of information:

Hope this helps, also that others jump in the conversation if they have more information.

Thanks for the links, John, but I'm afraid the info they give is way beyond my level of understanding. I do have a slight elevation in my kappa light chains, which my hematologist thinks is just a slight anomaly, and nothing to worry about. But we are going to watch it. Then, since I saw her last October, I have "come up with" a neuropathy (allodynia) on my back. It started very abruptly, unlike the usual diabetic peripheral neuropathy, though I am diabetic.
Do you think I should bring this to her attention?
Thank you.

Thank you. These articles were very enlightening and helps me perform better continued searches. I have had 2 liver transplant since 2000. My kidney appear to be damaged from Prograf/Tacrolimus now. Stage 3B. I had the blood test as part of my continued neuropathy in my feet and starting up each leg. I am waiting to see what the doctors say next since I just got these results online through My Chart. Cancer scars me!

Thank you John for including me in this discussion. I am going to speak to me neurologist about this this - I may have to go to a Mayo doctor to get some more understanding about it. I am especially concerned about my neuropathy getting worse

I have - My fr Kappa light chains was 22.8
kappa/Lamba Ratio was 2.40 Both a abnormal
I had it tested again and it all but one (forgot which one)was in the normal range. I have no idea what it means except Multiple Myeloma which I was told I didn’t have. The neuropathy in my feet is getting worse - from
My toes now to my ankle I’m curious to know if these labs have anything to do with neuropathy and want to know - is it just going to continue to go up my legs.
