I have a plate inserted in my lower back. My surgeon and I both believe it is causing me much pain. Reason being I am allergic to metal. Doctor said he would remove it. Recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Depending on what has to be cut to remove the plate may be the big question? If you have it attached to your spine and over many years you may have some issues due to surgical insult to your tissues. No surgery is fun let alone back surgery. Good luck.
