Your story sound so very familiar. I was diagnoised with stage 4 cirrosis last August. I had over 7 liters of fluids removed and lost around 50 lbs as well. I went tpo Mayo in Jax but chose to have Vanderbilt only 3 hrs away take charge of me. I was working and bloodwork kept improving. I even had my local gastrologist say that if I was still jandice he would say that I didn't have liver disease. However, it turned quickly and my MELD score shot to 34. I had just completed my intervention class and was placed on the list. I was only on the list for 4 hrs until I was called to get to the hospital. I am very blessed. Yesterday was 4 month post LTP and I am doing great.
I tell you this not to be negative about what is happening now, but to let you know that getting a transplant can be a blessing.
I pray that you get well, however way it takes. an added bonus of transplant there is no more Lactulose required.

@hdillon7, Happy 4 month transplant anniversary! That is an amazing story, and I'm thankful that you are doing well.
I can't imagine the whirlwind of excitement and activity when you got the Call for your transplant so suddenly. Were you near Vanderbilt or did you have to travel there?
