Wet Macular Degeneration: What treatment helps you?

I have recently tried a different injection for my Wet Mac and was almost cleared up and was worstend by this drug. I have gone back on my previous drug and cannot get any satisfying results. Has anyone had this experience?

The retina doctor in Augusta started injecting the left eye before it started "leaking"...the current doc is doing the same. I think you are correct...if you wait until it hemorrhages, that is too late. I had no symptoms of the left eye going wet, but he pointed out how the scans showed symptoms so we started treating it.
As for the right eye...it started hemorrhaging and the ophthalmologist looking after my vision at the time started treating it with Avastin...later switched to aylea. Hope this helps! Symptoms were the telephone poles along the road were bending in the middle and the white stripe on the edge of the pavement had a wavy look to it.

You r welcome…good luck with ur treatments…I should have told you, I am currently on a 10 week cycle for both eyes.

It means ever 10 weeks I get injections.

Regardless of prior eye exam?

The doctor first dilates, examines the eye with a scan, reviews his findings with me and if I agree, he will inject as required.
There are times (rare) when the retina is stable, showing little or no sign of hemorrhage, and he will suggest a delay of 2 weeks or more.
If your doc knows what he is doing, and is honest, he will do the right thing. Integrity is very important. If you have any doubts about your doctor, move on and find one who is reputable!

Ivon, you said that you tried a different injection and that things were getting better, but then something made things worse. Are you referring to Avastin (bevacizumab) following by Eylea (aflibercept) as you outlined in this discussion?

Did you only get one injection of Eylea? When did you return to Avastin?

Hi. I was changed to Byooviz recently. I now have a blister on my retina. Was getting shots every 10 weeks. Last visit Dr. said no change so don't need a shot. 3 weeks later the blister appeared. Went yesterday and got shot. Have to go back in 5 weeks.

Yes only one injection of Euler that was two years or more. I am doing great on Avastin 20/25 -3 my eye sight is almost perfect. 😊

I am also doing well on Avastin. I get injections every 4 months now after getting them much more often. I'm very thankful.
