Welcome to Mayo Connect, where many of us understand exactly what you mean when you say +"...I'm really tired of it all..." We are patients and caregivers who have also been there, or are there now.

What is the difference between nocardia and pseudomonas? Both are bacterial infections that attack people with weakened immune systems. Both are treatable with antibiotics, but several tries may be needed to find a combination that works and that you can tolerate. Some of the antibiotics may need to be delivered by IV, and some courses of treatment can take from several weeks to many months.

Have you seen a doctor who specializes in treating infections specifically?
Sue

Hi Sue yes I am seeing one now. He had me give a sputum sample and I guess they are waiting for the bacteria to grow or something. I don't know what meds I'll be on . I've gone through two iv antibiotics so far cipra something and it didn't do anything as fas as getting rid of the bacteria. So impatiently waiting for a new plan. I hope it comes soon and thank you for your kindness.
