Did you start during radiation? Right after? Or waited until you healed?

2 weeks from the last session of treatment. Having said that, I had no side effects from the 6 weeks of radiation

I started my aromatase inhibitor (letrozole) a few days prior to starting radiation. I underwent radiation twice a day for 5 days. I had no skin issues, but I continue to have swelling in that breast.

Exactly 14 days after last radiation session, per oncology instructions

I decided not to take it at all. That was around 2 years ago.

I waited 2 weeks. I think my oncologist thought i’d start during, but I wanted to wait. If I had new symptoms, I wanted to have an idea if it was the AI.

My medical oncologist stated them before sending me on to radiation.

What was the reason for starting before or during? My onc told me a month after radiation. It seems like a long time to wait.

I started on Lexatrole approximately 3 weeks after my last radiation treatment.

I started Anastrazole approx 2 weeks after radiation ended. I am now in my 4th month.

I started Anastrazole approx 1 week after radiation ended. I am now in my 4th month. I recall my med oncologist indicating that she preferred waiting intil after rad so that side effects of treatments could be differentiated. I had planned a big hiking trip with hub and friends 2 weeks post rad and she even said I could start after trip but I wanted to get going on it and just dive into next phase.
