ATM Gene Mutation and Care

I am the ATM gene mutation. I had early stage breast cancer in the left breast 4 years ago and I am considering having preventive removal of the right side after several scares. Does anyone have a point of view on this?

Is there any research that discusses why the left side is favored? Mine was also on the left.

Best decision when with ATM mutation is the double mastectomy.

I had mine on right 2018 had double mastectomy and had reoccurrence 2023 in my pectoral and skin layer tumor since I had no tissue. I have the ATM gene. Not sure it favors one left or right. Mine returned in same side right.
