How do you find relief from constant anxiety 24/7?

Posted by MarleneE @pinksky4u, Aug 1, 2023

I have been prescribed Seroquel 200mg at bedtime. Also Xanax .5 mg 3x day. But it does not seem to be helping with the all over since of panic and nervous tingling in my arms and face.
My doctor suggested that I increase Seroquel to 250 mg, then next night up to max of 300mg. My starting dose was 50mg 3 weeks ago.
Has anyone had any relief from anxiety while taking Seroquel?

I woke up this morning with tingling heat in my body from anxiety. I started my morning by listening to a daily bible reading. I am feeling more calm now. Praise be to God for his healing word!

I think you have the best medicine.
One of my favorite Psalms is 34:18 - "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Though you may feel defeated, God is closer than you realize. He is always with you and can heal your heart. Remember that when you awaken anxious. "Be anxious for nothing." For you have a great God who loves you and, as said, He is always near you.

I don't think there is 100 percent anxiety relief ever!
You can channel your anxious thoughts into productive behaviors.
Exercise works for me. Water aerobics, walking, and strength training help me.
Plus. I sleep better at night.
Hope this helps.Pat

The drugs just mask it, numb it, but it won't stop until you deal with why you are anxious. The root cause. I suggest Talk Therapy, also maybe try Acupuncture, yoga, and breathing techniques made for anxiety. Don't just let them drug you... try natural things too. -In my opinion-

I do totally agree. After being in a psychiatric drug fog for so many years, I have a clear head now
I had to learn natural ways to deal with anxiety. It could be difficult at first because I wanted my crutch, the pills
What I did is looked at when the anxiety would start and the outcome. What helped me was to stop the anxiety before it got out of hand. The anxiety always led to depression, then the hurt would start and soon the anger. I knew this was not good. I dealt with the anxiety by going to a quiet room. Listening to meditation music and reading. After a short while the anxiety would dissipate and the rest didn’t come. Also I was having negative thoughts of hopelessness and anticipating the worst. Learning to think positively and maybe that the negative thoughts could be wrong. I have been reading about cognitive behavioral therapy and it has shown me what the negative thoughts can do
I hope this helps a little

Yes! You are right! I will start exercising again. I had stopped a month ago and started feeling worse. I know that it helps. I just need to make myself start again today!

Some of my psych meds have been causing me anxiety. My anxiety meds were making me one of the walking dead, something had to give. My psych meds take a long time to get off of as I take very high levels of three of them. I wanted to get going.

In my fog I started changing my diet, read “Brain Energy” by a Dr. Palmer it has helped. First to go was sugar. Over time I cut my caffeine intake to less than half, I'm working toward just two cups once a day of decalf.

Most importantly I started exercising vigorously at least four times a week more often seven. I feel so good when I exercise that I would do it all day if my 60 year old body could take.

These changes allowed me to pretty much completely stop Lorazapam (Ativan), I only use it sometimes when I'm around my family, with no ill effects. I have also been able to stop Saroqual entirely. My sleep is messed up but is improving as I come down on the antidepressents I take.

None of this would be possible with out the diet and exercise. Humans need to move. I need to stop putting poison in my body. I feel the best I ever have physically and mentally, at 60 no less. Start with diet and exercise, the rest will come.

May your travels be easy.

Oh, I've also had a ton of therapy.

This is so true. I recently realized my inner voice was abusive. Now I make a conscious effort to stop negative thoughts and ease up on myself. I still feel anxious but not as desperate.
