How do you find relief from constant anxiety 24/7?

Posted by MarleneE @pinksky4u, Aug 1, 2023

I have been prescribed Seroquel 200mg at bedtime. Also Xanax .5 mg 3x day. But it does not seem to be helping with the all over since of panic and nervous tingling in my arms and face.
My doctor suggested that I increase Seroquel to 250 mg, then next night up to max of 300mg. My starting dose was 50mg 3 weeks ago.
Has anyone had any relief from anxiety while taking Seroquel?

The drugs just mask it, numb it, but it won't stop until you deal with why you are anxious. The root cause. I suggest Talk Therapy, also maybe try Acupuncture, yoga, and breathing techniques made for anxiety. Don't just let them drug you... try natural things too. -In my opinion-

What worked and continue to work is reading the Psalms in the Bible. In fact, that thought and practice came up last night when I was trying to go to sleep. Before getting into bed, I picked up the Bible and started to read Psalm 1 and really focused in what psalmist was writing and thinking through the process of meditating. I decided to work on memorizing the first two verses. Not long after, I put everything up and thought about the meanings of what I just read and memorized. I felt a sense of peace and next awoke after having slept nearly all night.
The key is to believe that this will work and do it with intention of focusing on the reading content.
This process is sometimes referred to as meditating. You direct your thoughts and mind on things that bring you peace and away from those things that bring on anxiety.
I hope you give this some thought and, perhaps, try it.
Peace be with you.

I believe that scripture is healing. At your suggestion, I will start reading and meditate on Psalms tonight. Thank you for your words of wisdom. God bless you!

Thank you for your response. I asked my church for a Christian Counselor. She is coming to my home one hour each week. We met for the second time yesterday. I believe this will be helpful.

I can only tell you my experience. I did find some relief with seroquil but didn't want to have to keep increasing the dosage. Please, please don't stay with the benzoyl. You may think they are helping, they are a he'll I wouldn't wish on the devil.
After decades of anxiety, I found a Dr. who MADE ME STOP THE BENZOS. I will not lie, it was sheer agony but worth every minute of the torture. She then put me on hydroxyzine. I just knew it was a waste of time. But I started them. I was calmer, I slept better, my anxiety was still there just not as overwhelming. She taught me deep breathing that I could do anywhere.
I'm now 2 years of no benzoyl, I rarely take the hydrox.. I use the deep breathing often and that's fine.
I wish you the best in your health quest. Be very gentle with yourself. You really are worth it.

Hi Victor,
Reading the Bible is always a good idea! I'm glad it helps you. My husband and I are reading the Bible cover to cover for the third time. We read a section each morning with our coffee and tea before we get up. It is relaxing and starts the day right. Plus you learn a lot from it. Back in those days people had to kill dinner and had to have a lot of kids so they could kill dinner when the parents got older. (Mainly the father.) Also we found out that the Philistines put gold necklaces on their camels! Not to mention all the miracles that God did; parting the red sea and also parting a few other bodies of water and the rainbow. And also Jesus healing people and turning the water into wine! It's good to keep track of actual history like the Bible is and to use it for relaxation.

I woke up this morning with tingling heat in my body from anxiety. I started my morning by listening to a daily bible reading. I am feeling more calm now. Praise be to God for his healing word!

Hi. I would like to ask if you can pinpoint when this anxiety started. People I know, including myself, were diagnosed with anxiety or depression, when they had one of the following: Hyperthyroidism, EBV, CMV, Started a new job where they were exposed to factory pollution, carpet store pollution, moved into brand new house, with high formaldehyde. That, "tingling," is neurological, being caused by the medication you are on, or by a medical condition. One of the conditions is from certain types of cancer tumors. I know this because a friend of mine was on neurontin for tingling, by his PCP. It actually was being caused by tumors from small cell ling

Hi, again. It caused by small cell lung cancer. By the time it was diagnosed, it was Stage 4. I was told I had depression because of my fatigue, and needed SSRIs, by my PCP. A psychiatrist concurred. It was EBV, with rare neurological symptoms.
