I do totally agree. After being in a psychiatric drug fog for so many years, I have a clear head now
I had to learn natural ways to deal with anxiety. It could be difficult at first because I wanted my crutch, the pills
What I did is looked at when the anxiety would start and the outcome. What helped me was to stop the anxiety before it got out of hand. The anxiety always led to depression, then the hurt would start and soon the anger. I knew this was not good. I dealt with the anxiety by going to a quiet room. Listening to meditation music and reading. After a short while the anxiety would dissipate and the rest didn’t come. Also I was having negative thoughts of hopelessness and anticipating the worst. Learning to think positively and maybe that the negative thoughts could be wrong. I have been reading about cognitive behavioral therapy and it has shown me what the negative thoughts can do
I hope this helps a little
Fight like hell. As suggested, please try yoga, meditation as well as talk therapy. There is hope. I too, suffer with extreme anxiety and PTSD. Commit to healing. Best of luck to you. 🌺
Root cause is the only way I have decreased my anxiety. Sometimes my anxiety is 'out of this world' because the root cause of most my anxiety is fear. At those times, medication helps me calm down so I can get things in perspective. But I no longer depend upon the meds to eliminate anything. I fear the world we are in most of all. That covers a lot of situations I cannot control. I can control my little environment though most of the time, And I can change how I approach my anxiety. I can change myself but not the weather. I can change my thoughts but no one else's'. I control nothing. That is God's job.
Thank you for your response. I asked my church for a Christian Counselor. She is coming to my home one hour each week. We met for the second time yesterday. I believe this will be helpful.
