I know this doesn’t help… but I’m so sorry. There is no way I would have ever thought this could be an actual thing—but wow. I too have been suffering with this, and your experience is totally familiar: 3 ENT’s, allergist, it’s all in your head ( why say that?!?) and the drastic life change.
I finally found a dr who has heard of this. ( I got severe Covid in 03/20 & long haul since). I was not going to share this, because I didn’t want anyone trying this and having it fail… but you have gone through too much. I don’t know if this will help— I haven’t had it yet. I’m going to an immunologist who has treated Long Covid patients. She wants me to have an endoscopy ( G.I. Dr) to biopsy my esophagus and then proceed with treatment. I don’t know where you are in the country… I’ll private message you
I've had a similar experience with seeing an ent, allergist and pulminologist and this has completely turned my life around the last 2.5 years. They all seem to think it's different things but mostly allergy issues. I suddenly became allergic to a lot of things after getting covid back in 2020 to the point where I even started to use non fluoride toothpaste.
I got covid for the third time back in March of 2023 and it actually reduced my symptoms to hacking a few times a day instead of every couple minutes. I've also had really good results with pseudoephedrine sulphate. This is a decongestant found in some extra strength antihistamines such as extra strength clairatin allergy + sinus. One pill completely eliminated my symptoms but my head felt really foggy. It's not something I cant take everyday but it's definitely something to take on a weekend when nothing is going on.
After getting sick I've also been taking cardimon and I'm at the point where I can go back to working out in the gym but only for 30-40 minute sessions before the phlem starts to build up in my throat causing me breathing issues. There's days I can gym and go for long 1 hour walks and days where I start hacking mucus after a 10 minute walk. I still haven't figured out why its worse on some days but not others but my pattern of taking an Antihistamine with cardmion tea and local honey seems to have helped. As time goes on I've had more better days where I feel mostly normal but still some bad ones. I just remember to really enjoy the good days and do the the things I want to before I hit a bad one.
