What advantage plan of Medicare PPO do Mayo take? I live out of state

What ppo advantage plan of Medicare do Mayo take in general and Minnesota specially? I live out of state and patient service currently refuses to provide a straight answer. I need 3rd revision. Drs in my area won't help and refered me to contact Mayo as last option. They won't take my Aetna PPO insurance but won't reviel what other Medicare plans accept.
Any one has an idea would help me soon much.tx

The question to ask Medicare Advantage insurance company your considering, is Mayo Rochester an "in-network" provider.

The reason it is hard for Mayo to answer generic question like " Do you accept ….", is most insurance companies have variety of policies with varity of limitations. Some may have Mayo in network, others may not.

And, you need to be clear that you're asking about Mayo Rochester. Mayo FL and AZ each have their own policies for Medicare Advantage plans.

Mayo does not have capacity to accept all patient, so even though Mayo has an in-network contracted plans with insurance company, it does not guarantee you an appointment. Just want to make sure your aware of that so you do not switch insurance company just to be seen at Mayo .

After consulting multiple specialists I was given the one option to try mayo as a last resort. Mayo should review the case request case by case and as a heath institution they should and must work with patients, especially when mayo is last resort.

As a 23 year Mayo patient, when I went on Medicare 2 years ago, I made sure I bought the Medicare Supplement Plan G through Blue Cross. Both times I've returned from out of state for annual post-kidney transplant tests, I've paid virtually nothing out-of-pocket. The premium is higher though.

@abura

But aren't the supplements plans super expensive? I heard $200-$300 monthly

It depends on your state and even your zip code. I'm in Florida and mine is approx $175 per month.

Yeah I think $200/month is a good approximation for the cost of Medicare Supplemental. It's needed for people who travel a lot, or for people who may have residences they visit in two or more states.

Does it cover a person traveling on a cruise? Thanks!
