Anyone tried Dry Needling or Acupuncture for Pain or Neuropathy?

Posted by judypall @judypall, Mar 22, 2019

Has anyone had any luck with either dry needling or acupuncture? I have tried each of them one time. But made my feet tingle more. The PT who was administering the dry needling said that it goes through a cycle of pain to get better. I wasn’t too sure on that. Anyone?

400 mgs each. The Hemp cream is: Dr. Joel's Maximum strength which I have to put on my toes, the bottoms of my feet and upper thighs. I am going to forgo the cream as I did last night and had no problems. Good Luck.

P.S. I was taking the Magnesium morning and night and thought that was probably too much with 1600mgs per day so I have cut back to just 800mgs. per day. We'll see how that works. The Maggnesium I use is by: Holistic Method vegan natural cherry flavor made in the USA. In my opinion you should have a blood test to see where you may have some deficiencies. I am scheduled to do that again soon as I think I am taking too many suppliments per day. Good Luck and Good Healtlh to you, bassinga.

Thanks so much.
I’ll first speak to my doctor.
Does the Hemp or magnesium help with knife-like pains in the thigh area?

I can't pick one or the other. If you need to use both. Good Luck, bazzinga.

I need to edit my comment above, but I don't see that option. Re: The pain I experienced for days was from the second dry needling.

Just do another reply. I have done that. You cannot amend what is already on line. Just add another comment, stella.

I also use Dr. Joel's Maximum Strength Neuropathy Hemp Cream when necessary which was last night at 2 a.m...thigh cramps that prevented me fron standing for a minute or two, glistening like a horse and total weakness. Finally got to the bath area and applied this cream and retired to the sofa in the leisure room with more cream and tried to sleep. I had been out for dinner with my husband and when home ate a large piece of Key Lime pie and two pieces of chocolate. Wondering if all of that sugar had anything to do with the problem?

I use regular extra strength Hemp cream and the Neuropathy maximum strength Hemp Cream. Depends on the night. Very seldom have a problem during the day...onec up and going I am fine. Not 29 any longer so being "fine" is relative.

I have been getting acupuncture for 2 weeks now, and it's the only relief I've ever had from my small fiber PN. The numbness is gone from the full length of my heels. It is limited to the to the toes and balls of the feet and is far less severe. I can feel my toes for the first time since the onset of symptoms about 3 years ago. The numbness is diminishing, and there is no sustained pain. I've only felt 2 short twinges.
I've been trying to find a cause since my neurologist called it idiopathic and sent to my PCP, who sent me back to my neurologist or to a related specialist. The acupuncturist related it my CKD and said the renal insufficiency allowed unfiltered toxins to damage the nerves and permitted uric acid to accumulate in the joints resulting in my gout. He explained there are other contributing causes but that the CKD is the major cause. He said he has been clearing what he terms the channels from the kidneys to the feet. I don't understand it but it's working so far.

Just like other things, not all acupuncturists are the same. I don't live in your area. I got a referral from a reliable source. My doctor actually started in medical school, then left to get a master's degree in acupuncture, and has taught. He was mentored by his grandfather, who trained in China. I have tried to be careful in choosing medical professionals.

Good luck.
