Hi, stage 4 colorectal cancer here
Hi. I am new to the group. My name is Michele and I am located in Florida. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on January 19th 2022.
I am currently on my 7th round of chemo. Is anyone else newly diagnosed with stage 4? Looking for a little support.

@laser
How are you doing now after the reversal of your ileostomy? Do things go back to ‘normal’? I’m having mine reversed in early October. Hoping the transition will be smooth. I guess we can deal with anything after this battle!
@cjay The reversal went smooth. Depending on what surgery you had and the extent of the surgery will determine how you feel for the next couple of months too. It took me a while to fully recover from the surgery. All the plumbing is working again although I have bouts of constipation and then days I spend a lot of time on the toilet. It's like I empty out that day. I would think everyone's experience will be somewhat different too. Good luck and enjoy your life now.
Am so happy for you. Would you please share where you are being treated. Thank you and my good thoughts and prayers are with you.
I was diagnosed in Wellington, Fl., but decided to return to South Africa for treatment for various reasons. I am being treated by Hopelands Cancer Center, located in Busamed Hospital in Hillcrest, South Africa. My oncologist is Rob Wilson and the treatment and staff are world class.
Thank you for the info. Am very appreciative. Unfortunately, I’m in NYC and very disappointed with my treatment at Cornell Weil. Stay healthy and my continued good wishes and prayers.
I had colon cancer stage 4 metastisized to my liver 2 spots in 2004. I was 46 years old and on the heavy side. I went right to Sloan Memorial Kettering cancer center in Manhatten New york city. ( 2nd best in the country ) They first told me they were going to try to save my life. The surgeon first removed two tumors just under 3 cm and put in 2 pumps. One chemo pump for systematic chemo in my upper right chest and the HAI pump for the chemo in my side 3 inches under the skin for the chemo to go right to my liver. I think its a miracle I'm alive today. I was in a clinical trial run by Dr. Nancy Kemeny at Sloan Kettering hospital and its been 19 years and I'm still doing great, no cancer. I get a CAT scan of my chest, abdomen and pelvis once a year for a check up. Check to see if Dr. Nancy Kemeny is still putting HAi pumps.
Thank you so much for this info. It gives me hope

How are you and your husband doing, @lisaf64? What questions do you have?
Pet scan showed tumors in his lungs doubled in 3 months So back on chemo. I am so scared watching him going thru this again
This time the chemo will try to stop the spread and keep it from going to other organs
