Any folks receive Rx during Covid?
I am suffering so severely and besides all unbearable symptoms, yesterday another terrible new symptom appeared. . . burning throat and burning mouth syndrome. It's agonizing. I can't take this. I've already lost so much weight and down to 90 lbs and now because of all the burning it's hard to even eat or swallow.
Just curious, if any folks who are suffering from Long Term were given medication? Whether it be, monoclonal antibodies, or other medications?
I was not given anything, and Doc said, 'I'll be fine," and I'm so angry that I could have prevented all this 3 yrs of suffering if only he treated me properly.
It helps us to know if there's a way to address it properly and we can help others as well.

Me again, the reason for my question is because I truly believe if I was given medication I would have never developed Long Term Covid; hence my question. Like many other on this forum and trying to determine how or why we are in the state were in and millions of others who had Covid got through it fine.
With that said, wondering if the folks who received medication are any Long Haulers. I know through this site I learned that vaccination made no difference, and many folks were vaccinated and booster'd. So lets also find out about medications during Covid.
Summerof42, Bless you! I received antibiotics & steroids during Covid due to having double pneumonia, asthmatic bronchitis & a horrible sinus infection. My asthma went out the roof with Covid. I went to the ER and was giving IV antibiotics and steroids. I rebounded with asthmatic bronchitis and had to go another round of antibiotics. I hope this encourages you as I have long Covid even after being on so much medication for my infections. I am 11 months out since Covid and still not back to 100%. This virus was brutal. Praying for you some relief. Blessings.....
The didn't give you the medication for Covid, i.e., Paxlovid, Remdesiver, etc? I'm so angry my Doc would not give me anything. The covid meds help to stop the virus from further infecting your cells and immune system.
Anyone I know that had covid was given either monoclonal antibodies or the above mentioned and recovered fine and none are dealing with LT Covid like us.
Adding fuel to FIRE, on Friday I developed what's called BURNING TONGUE SYNDROME My tongue, lip and throat feel like they are on fire!!!! There's nothing that can be done to relieve the pain that's there 24/7. It's excruciating and don't know how I'll survive this. I lost so much weight since Covid and down to 90 lbs from 127 lbs. Now I can't eat because of the extreme pain on my tongue and throat.
Summerof42, No they didn't. If you are past the 10 day window for Covid, they will not give it to you. I was past the 10 day window for all the meds you mentioned. I am so sorry you are battling this. Have you been to an ENT doctor for the burning tongue syndrome? Is there a Covid Recovery Clinic close to you? I can't even imagine how painful that is. Have you tried a different toothpast like Tom's? Sometimes, toothpaste can cause mouth irritation. I'm just making suggestions trying to help. Praying much for you right now. My heart goes out to you.
Unfortunately, no Covid Recovery Clinic anywhere near me 🙁 I'm thinking its BTS as well and from what I read online there is not treatment or reason for the cause. In my case, I know it's Covid which has brought on so many horrible symptoms. Yes, the pain in unbearable! Picture eating the hottest pepper on the planet x10 24 hrs a day and nothing you can do. Even my throat hurts and it's getting hard to swallow.
I'm going to send my brother out to pick up a box of baking soda to brush my teeth and also some Tom's toothpaste or one w/o SLS.
I just want to go in a time machine 2019. I love life so much, but it's getting so hard. I've been trying to get rid of the chalazion which popped up in Oct, which I know also was caused by Covid and told they can come from immune disorders.
This chemical weapon and beast that Covid is never should have been created and it gets me so angry thinking about the many lives taken and folks like us who have to suffer, and lives changed forever. I really miss being so happy and active and enjoy life to the fullest!
Big {{{hugs}}}}
In September it will be 3 years for me. Since 2020, with each and every passing month, newer symptoms appear. It ravages our body, mind and soul.
I pray for God's strength and help every day. . . for everyone.
me too, i don't understand how new things keep popping up... it's like it wants to slowly break us down and completely takes over...l hate it..does this virus ever really leave our body???? i really wonder because i thought by now things would have changed for the better....
My research with long Covid and the vaccine leads me to think there is much even the physicians do not understand at this time. The spike protein in the vaccine has been found up to months in a person's body. It was "assumed" (and I use that phrase as ideas seem to be changing every month or so) that the tiny amount of viral material would be limited to the respiratory system and then expelled naturally within a few weeks.
They have now found this protein in the GUT and remaining there for months. Obviously this means it can travel throughout the system and create symptoms wherever there is a vulnerable receptor site. My studies include a wealth of information from the UK which seems to be more forthcoming than the US.
There is too much information to place in a comments section, but perhaps someone will want to respond to my comments and could possibly a group could be formed to discuss this further.
I have had Covid 3 times and had the first two vaccines. I refused to have further since the variants appeared as stats showed that the vaccine lasts less and less time than the original. Also the body's own immune system seems to provide extended protection.
I would appreciate any comments, as this is the first time I am printing this. I am a RN with an advanced degree and extremely concerned about this country's response to Covid.
Thank you if you read this. Faith L.
Addendum to my above statement: The first time I had Covid I received monoclonal antibodies through an IV infusion. This was done the first day which is vital to its efficacy. I recovered in about three weeks, as I am also immune compromised with a chronic lung condition.
The second and third times I got Covid I was given Paxlovid oral medication to take at home. There are many people who reported a good response to it, but I was not one of them. I could not tolerate that medication no matter how much I washed my mouth out, chewed gum and gargled salt water. It was vile tasting. The end result both times was that it left me with a terrible metallic taste that continues somewhat to this time.
I am what they call an "old school nurse" even though I have worked in modern clinical settings. I wear a mask when I feel there is a possible threat of exposure. I drink a lot of water to cleanse my system of any residual variants that I'm sure are still in my GI tract. I have tried many vitamins and although I am not against vitamins at all, I think maintaining a well-balanced diet is very important - lot of Vitamin C & D in vegetables, fruits, etc. I always have a hand cleanser with me and still wash down countertops, etc. at home with alcohol (at least 70%) to avoid contamination. I have a lot more to say, but I'm tired, so will wish you all better days. Don't give up, depression is part of this horrible situation too. Faith
vivian1911, God Bless You! Just a thought. I had the horrible metallic taste in my mouth after Covid last year. Covid wiped out my B12. I got on the injections and the metallic taste in my mouth went away. I was diagnosed with long Covid due to other issues and I go to the Covid Recovery Clinic this month. I'm with you. I still do all the cleaning, hand sanitizer, mask, etc., I am so sorry you have had this nasty virus 3 times. Praying for you.
