Yes - the nerves definitely get frazzled. I'm almost 2 months since the surgery and I am slowly regaining 'normal' feeling in my operated leg. Sometimes I feel a twitch or tingle, to me that just signifies that the wound area is healing. My doctor warned me that the nerves could take years to recover...but I'm feeling progress already.

I had one knee that took 2 years for the nerves to completely heal after a traumatic injury and surgical repair. As for my hips, the fifth surgery caused a permanent "dead spot" in one thigh - suddenly, there is mild pain there - doc thinks there is a nerve finally waking up - after 11 years!
Nerves are amazing.
