How long does it take for Tymlos side effects to subside?
I’ve been in Tymlos for two months now and have bone pain, dizziness and just overall aches and pains. Does this get better?

Where is the data showing that doses can not be split? Also where is the data showing that 8 mcg is the optimum dosage? The number was not picked out of the air. They had to do a study of varying dosages before selecting 8 mcg. Was that chosen to encompass 200 lb men?
I switched to night last night for the first time. I kind of liked being able to lie around through the side effects but I think I got nausea when I didn’t I in the morning. Both gave me dizzy feeling I think. My name is Donna 🙂
Sorry tell me your height and weight again - we are both small
5' 2" 108 lbs. I am doing full dose for last 3 months. Still not easy.
Does anyone take anything to relieve headaches or do you just wait for them to subside? If you do take something what is it and is it helpful?
@njhornung the doses absolutely cannot be split. I have asked doctors. It works only with a large bolus that raises (synthetic) parathyroid hormone. From the insert: "Do not use 2 doses in one day."
Many of us seem to be using Tymlos with dosing less than 80mcg though we need to let our doctors know. You could ask Radius how they came up with 80mcg. I believe that regardless of body size, the higher dose the better but I could be wrong so check with doctor, pharmacist or Radius on that.
We are almost identical in height and weight but your bones are better in scores.
But I have 7 spinal fractures. My spine has improved 20% on TYmlos.
Yes hugs and your numbers are better. And your numbers have always been better.
Did you do anything like Lift 100 lbs to create fractures ? P s we are are all vulnerable . I pushed a fridge a week ago Monday when my fridge failed I am sure I risked fractures.
Your response to Tymlos is exceptional - the average improvement is 11%.
3-4 fractures from a severely traumatic fall 2006
2-3 osteoporotic fractures from a movement similar to
putting a bathing suit on while sitting
My spine was -3.7 in June 2021. And -2.5 in April 2023.
My hip was -3.4 and now -2.9.
Femur neck was -4.1, now -3.6.
I did 5 years of letrozole for breast cancer, which eliminates estrogen and affects bones. Most do Reclast during that treatment but my endo was afraid of afib with it (now disproven). I may have had those great results because I have never been able to be on any other meds, and also because there may have been an estrogen boost when I stopped letrozole in 2020, who knows. Also although the DEXA machine was the same, the technicians did different "areas of interest." They omitted the fractured vertebrae but you never know if arthritis affected it as well. At any rate, no new fractures since 4/2021! I can't lift 5 lbs. let alone 100.
I didn't do too badly with 8 clicks today.
