diplopia when reading 3 months after cataract surgery

I had "routine" cataract surgery with the promise of no longer needing "readers", sharper and clearer vision, and am now blind except for prescribed prism lens glasses.
I am suing the surgeon!

Sorry to hear that. I now need reading glasses, but eye pain and double vision in my right eye persist. Not sure the double vision will go away. I only hope it will not get worse. My doctor does not think it has anything to do with the surgery.

I totally understand your disappointment and heartache! I am experiencing the same results after my cataract surgery too. If you find a good malpractice attorney, please pass on the information. I live in Florida too!

My problem (fault) is because of procrastination. The 12+ Florida medical malpractice attorneys I have contacted are fearful of my case being dismissed due to the (2) year statute of limitations.

I got diplopia shortly after my cataract surgery. I also fell and whiplashed my neck, so I’m not sure what caused what. My surgery was in Myrtle Beach, SC.

You need to see a specialist. These specialists are usually for children and limit the amount of adults as patients. Your condition may nit be relates to cataract surgery, but is common if you have other eye issues. It can have many different causes that only a specialist can figure out. Mine was just an eye muscle that weakened related mostly to aging. Solved with a prism in my eye prescription. Good luck and have patience.
