Vancomycin and urinate
I feel like I go to the bathroom to urine every hour. Has anyone else experienced this on this med.

Welcome to Mayo Connect, @ciebrown. Vancomycin is a very strong antibiotic and works well to fight infections. However one of the side effects can be the urge for more frequent urination. It’s still important to drink plenty of water with this medication to help keep your kidneys flushed.
Did you just start taking the pills? If you haven’t you might want to report this side effect to your doctor to see if another medication could work for you in stead.

How close are you to nearing the end of the prescription? Is this to treat your C-diff situation? How are those symptoms of diarrhea and cramping, any better>

1 ReactionYes it’s for cdiff and the cramps are Better and the diarrhea is better it’s now just loose and maybe 1-2 a day. But this going to the bathroom is now scary. It’s just problems after problems
I have another week on the meds
This sounds like the urinating issue is getting worse. I think it’s a good idea to check in with your doctor.
A frequent urge to urinate is on the list of side effects to report immediately to your doctor according to the information provided on Vancomycin.
