Anyone do POCT Lactic Acid (Lactate) Test?
I saw in other post recovery group that some folks with post-acute Covid symptoms are testing their lactate levels as levels out of normal range can show low oxygen in muscles and help explain potentially issues. I would still love to do micro clot test, but those don’t exist yet and won’t be available for another three to six months potentially. Thought this might be a good idea and wondered if anyone has done this yet.

@tiredmommy, I found some information about measuring lactate values in COVID patients.
- Blood lactate concentration in COVID-19: a systematic literature review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34856090/
Researchers concluded the "findings suggest that blood lactate monitoring upon admission and throughout hospitalization may be useful for early identification of higher risk of unfavourable COVID-19 illness progression."
What have learned about the use of lactate testing with respect to long COVID?
Okay I just came across this hypothesis (longcovid patient coming up on three years). I got my levels tested and resting levels are out of range at 57 mg/dL. Got a home test kit and have been able to see fluctuations throughout the day. The thing that brings it in range is using my hyperbaric tank and/or my O2 concentrator. I feel like this should be talked about more! Lactic acidosis symptoms are exertional fatigue, brainfog, and nausea. Is this contributing to severe longcovid symptoms??
Hi @longcovidcelsi. I am so grateful for your sharing this. I have sought this type of testing through my healthcare system for over year and a half with nothing available through many specialists. My understanding this is home test that you may be able to share where purchased? This is something I think life changing for us to deal day to day like box breathing helped me! Thank you🙂🌈
Hi there! Here’s the one my husband found for me that I’ve been using. https://www.edge-usa.com/lactate-meter/
Thank you so much!
I created a longer post asking about this but it looks like it didn't show up on the thread for some reason. I think more people should know about this!
