Knee and hip nerve ablation

Posted by LynetteGable @lynettegable, Jul 19, 2019

I'm unable to have a knee or hip replacement due to high infection risk. I'm looking into knee and hip nerve ablation and am looking for people that have had it done and if it helped

Your message came to me as if your are a special angel. Thank you for your uplifting words. Yesterday, the last week+ have been tiring, to the bone, and heartbreaking. So, thank you and blessings...may the sun shine brightly on your face. Elizabetg

You and your son will be in my prayers for strength and healing. Caregiving can be so draining. Be good to yourself and take care of yourself- even if it means saying "No, I can't do this (or that) today. Let me help find another pair of hands to take my place until I feel stronger again."
If we become ill due to putting all of our best energies into caregiving, we risk not being able to help at all! Please permit me to share words that have given me strength over the years. It doesn't matter what religion you may be, these truths will be there for you: Jesus told the people, "Come to me, all ye who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. My yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matt 11,) and "Cast your burdens upon the Lord and He will sustain you." Let go, my friend, and let God take the weight from your shoulders and heart. Slowly make your way back to caring for others. This difficult time you are in will pass as all things pass. Find little hopeful, happy things in every day to offset the negative. For me, it's being in my little garden where fat little pea pods are growing on a vine, tomato plants have bright yellow flowers that will soon turn to little green tomatoes and a button -eyed squirrel is having a lunch of nuts at a ground feeder. Nearby, hummingbirds vie for spots to drink nectar from a red hanging feeder they have returned to for many years each summer. Pain, exhaustion- yes- still there, but nature has provided this distractions as soothing balm. Yours may be different, but it is there waiting to help you through.
'Sorry if I've gone on- it's just that my long, often difficult life has given me truths to share with those who may benefit from my understanding. Blessings, Sandra

@sandscript02, @johnbishop, @gingerw, and all...What a lovely message from you, Sandra. I appreciate each word, your scripture references are right on and I'm re-reading them today as well. You helped me get through the last few days with a bit more grace and less hysteria than I would have been able to accomplish. Thank you!
God hears us and answers prayers in such interesting, often unexpected ways, from unexpected sources. Be sure He answered your prayers sent and I've been getting a bunch of assistance for my son today! Today!

His nerve ablation for the nerve in his neck/shoulder is tomorrow at 2:00. I've been on the phone with texts and calls for 2 days with nurses and med. assistants and others getting everything fully understood, addressed, mistakes corrected, and such. It's been a lot of work to just get him the help he needs. And during this time and the last 20+ years I've been in full fight mode. It's exhausting. Wearing. A true teaching experience. I've become much more of an expert in these areas than I ever dreamed and don't want to be. But, we're set for the procedure that will bring him some true relief. The other issues I'm fighting are finally understood by the people who can actually make a difference. Getting to them is a horror!

So, Sandra, thank you. I'm resting today with computer on my lap, my cell next to me, scheduling book on my pillow, and think I'm ready to go downstairs for some ice cream therapy, fix, comfort! Had several days of cardio testing and all is ok. The ascending aorta aneurysm has grown a bit, but we'll see if any action is advised or permitted.

Ablation folks, I'll report on the results of this procedure after a few days and we see how much benefit he gets. I'm sure it'll be helpful since his issues are severe and this doctor knows how to help.

Blessings. I hope you're feeling better and doing well. Enjoy those veggies! I had a couple of hours sweating immensely at a local garden center yesterday...my therapy. I love plants, flowers, all of them. Got rat poison, too, and several succulents to replace drowned ones on wall planters on my patio. We've had a lot of rain recently. I neglected them and didn't drain them well enough. Wind and rain in Florida during hurricane season...must stay on top of my babies and bird feeders. Can't always, so...The garden center is my refuge.

So, thanks again for sharing your life truths. I think that is our responsibility as we've been through the difficult walks and sharing with others to ease their journey is our blessing as well as responsibility. Elizabeth

I have chosen ablation for a bone-on-bone osteoarthritis of my left knee due to an inability to tolerate general anesthetic and major surgery. The ablation procedure will be performed tomorrow. The pain specialist/ anesthesiologist has performed two genicular nerve blocks (required by Medicare?) to determine my likely positive response to the ablation procedure. I'm feeling very positive about the outcome. Thanks to all who have shared their experiences

I have bone on bone osteoarthritis in my right hip. Nobody has mentioned ablation - just hip replacement. I had spinal fusion surgery a month ago so I have to wait 5 months before hip surgery. I'm interested in knowing how the ablation goes.
