Has anyone improved bone density without meds?
I have a very problematic dental history and will continue to need additional root canals and implants. I also have Sjogren's Syndrome and want to avoid any drugs that cause rheumatic symptoms. Other issues in my health history make all of the meds risky for me. That said, I work out almost daily, lift weights, maintain a healthy diet, take all the recommended supplements, and get most of my calcium nutritionally. My endocrinologist wants me to take an infusion/injectable drug. I dread the side-effects, yet I'm afraid of fracturing, which hasn't happened over the many years I have had osteoporosis. That said, my numbers are getting worse (-3.2 spine, -3.1 hip). I need to do something more than I've been doing, and am at a loss. I need hope and solutions I can be at peace with. Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

I sent a pm with the link. Not sure what to think. I will be starting tymlos soon.
@leeosteo I just watched the podcast which is an overview of treatment in Canada. Cancer is mentioned at the end for literally seconds, where the speaker says Forteo and Tymlos should not be taken by people who have had cancer. Again, I asked docs about this and researched it and felt comfortable taking Tymlos despite having had cancer. I believe it needs to be avoided absolutely if you have had bone metastases. Radiation may be another contraindication but I don't know anything about it. (I was more concerned about Prolia because it affects the immune system and the immune system fights cancer cells, but studies showed that was not an issue either).
ps Because the reference to cancer was so quick, I am wondering if the speaker just didn't want to go into detail and nuance or if that is really the position of docs in Canada.
I listened again. You are right the speaker didn’t go into it much. I think I am overthinking everything because it’s time to start my tymlos next week and I am nervous. I’ll see if a friend can come over the first day when I take the injection. Thank you for all your support.
Hi, I used algaecal bone builder pack. After 2 years, my spine went from -3.2 to - 2.7. My hip went from osteoporosis to osteopinia.
@dulu if the bone builder pack contains strontium, you cannot trust those results, and perhaps you can ask the radiologist to adjust them. Strontium replaces calcium i the bones and is denser, so it throws off the DEXA scores.
@candy209 to calm your nerves maybe just do two clicks the first few times, then move up. I pinch my skin up then let go as I inject, and hold it in for 10 seconds. No leakage!
Yes! Quality Calcium/Magnesium/ k2, ect, .. High dose vitamin D. Plus multivitamin for woman. A good natural pathic dr can help with this. I'm 66 & have been through cancer treatment's, surgeries. Most medical drs are not educated in vitamins, good diet ect. I was scolded for taking so much vitamin D over the yrs. After my lab work, I was told to keep taking my vitamins, and that it was unusual to not, have bone loss. My bone scans always, are good.
Ok. Thank you so much.
You have been so wonderful. I appreciate all your support.
thank you for your sharing your protocol. What is the calcium supplement that you are taking?
