Anyone use an online health coach? My rheumatologist recommended

My rheumatologist wants me to sign up for this service, RevUp, https://getrevup.com/ has anyone used it? Thoughts about it?
I have diagnosed SS, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, suspected PMR.

@cpd54, there are many, many health trackers and patient-doctor portals on the market. Some are specific to tracking certain conditions like glucose monitoring for diabetes to fitness and diet tracking, etc.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1. The tracker is only as good as the information you put into it.
Some things can be tracked automatically, but other data points you may have to input manually, like how you are feeling, symptoms, how much water you drink daily, etc. So this has to be enjoyable to you or it will become a nusance. My mom loves her tracking tool. I get annoyed and never use it. As much as my mom and I are similar, here we differ.

2. Tracking is especially useful if your doctor works with you.
Many patients who diligently track their symptoms, daily habits, etc. get discouraged when their doctor is disinterested in the data and doesn't want to see it or get a summary.
It's encouraging that your doctor is recommending a tool. Hopefully this means they will go over the results with you.

3. Understand why
Why is your doctor asking you to use the tracker and communication tool? Understanding why can help motivate you to participate and make points number 1 and 2 work. 🙂

This isn’t a tracking app. It’s a service that calls once a month and talks with me. I’m really not sure what benefits it has to offer me, unless my doctor looks at a report from them before my next visit that would help him to prepare before my visit.

Hi @cpd54, Part of the program is an app available in the Google Play Store for Android mobile devices and phones and also available in the Apple Store for iPhones and iPads. You may be able to enroll in the program without using the app but I'm not sure. It looks like the app is used to communicate with your healthcare team as well as track some of your health data.

@cpd54 My nephrologist office wanted me to join a service similar to what you have been invited to. With everything I have going on already, I wasn't keen on doing that. And, truth be told, I am not a techy person. So, having to log in and do different reports, communications just wasn't in my interest. They tried twice to convince me, then I told them to stop calling.

Hi, @cpd54, I've never used or heard of that program, but on the website you linked to I read, "Our program has no contract or obligation, and you can cancel at any time by messaging your RevUp nurse, emailing support, letting your health coach know, or giving us a call at 866-716-0083 Mon.-Fri. between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Pacific Time."
If that information is accurate, then if you try it and decide it's not for you, supposedly canceling ought to be fairly easy.

Just looked at the frequently asked questions on the RevUp site. Apparently, there is a cost to this program, and Medicare gets stuck paying for it in the typical 80%/20% fashion. Which, I suppose, means that the patient pays the 20% unless he/she has a secondary.
