Well remoresfully glad it's not just me.
Feel like I have been feeding a tapeworm since ADT began.
Read somewhere that you need to cut out about 4500 calories (up from 3500) to lose 1 lb.
And there is no sign that is happening.
I have maintained my walking and modest light upper body lifting, and clearly am losing the battle.
How much willpower can one maintain?

My Oncologist tells me that the hormone therapy slows down the metabolism causing the weight gain.
I don’t see any results from my current regime of diet, and exercise. I will be asking my Oncologist today if it’s worthwhile to continue trying, or just give up.

never give up. I am averaging 15,000 steps per day, cutting back on the processed foods and sugar, and have noticed that I feel better. Keep The Faith!
I have been on Lupron for over 18months and so far my PSA is undetectable.
Side affects are classic….weight gain and sweats.
I was reminded by a comment on lifeonadt.com that in addition along with getting regular PSA tests, men should also get their haemoglobinA1c checked as a blood marker for diabetes,a cardiac assessment and track their blood markers for Mets(triglycerides and cholesterol)
In short we need to worry more about the cardiovascular and metabolic risks on any form of ADT.
In summary exercise and good nutrition are a big boost in dealing with other issues we are trying to avoid…..Keep walking,working out….

Ive been on Hormonal Arbityherone pills for about 4 months and the 3 monthly hormone injection. PSA down to 0.008 and testosterone 25. The latest PET PSMA scan shows great improvement- lymph nodes hardly show up - so the hormonal treatments have stopped the fuel increasing spread of affected lymph nodes
Sweats, hot flashes and increase in weight - about 5% in a few months. Seems to have leveled off now- I walk about 2 miles most days. I eat well- nuts, avocadoes, fruit, little meat - red perhaps once a week. Also B12 and Viatmin D and vitamins to prevent osteoporosis-
I work about 8 hours a day at home- at the screen- with a 1 hour lunch break and 30 minutes snooze. Dont suffer from exhaustion- only occasionally energy drops.
I have my blood checked every few weeks for glucose, cholesterol, liver function and other markers suggested by the Oncologist
I consider myself fortunate- functioning well
76 years old- 5 years on after radical prostatectomy, and 2 short radiotherapy sessions. Bottom line- looks like the hormone therapy with all the down sides, is the most effective way to stop rapid spread of the cancer cells

I was wondering if a total fast for 3 days would show any results.
Most likely but you would probably gain it back. Fasting would be more of a cleansing benefit as opposed to long term weight loss.

Did it metathesize and if so where? You mention lymph nodes are you stage 3
I walked 1/2 mile every day+ small weights and kept my calories at 1385 daily. Lost 20lbs. and not gaining at all. Good luck....not always easy.
