Replies to "Did anyone have Reclast with chronic kidney disease?"
Along with learning in 2021 that I have osteoporosis, I learned I have MGUS & stage 2 CKD. I have no symptoms and while the osteoporosis can be part of MGUS, my nephrologist said the kidney problems aren’t related.
I have hypertension that is now better controlled with medication.
MGUS is a benign plasma cell disorder that I get labs yearly to watch- very rarely it can progress to cancer.
So- I have a small amount of protein in my urine and eGFR in 60s-70s. Hopefully it won’t be something I need to worry about - watching my weight & exercise is key, he said.
I was concerned about Reclast but decided to go ahead and take last November after Evenity was done. ( my nephrologist okayed it).
It didn’t seem to affect my renal function any.
I don’t want to take anything else unless I must- hope this is helpful information.
