I Just red your response, How was your breathing during the day?
I have episodes when I wake up during the night from time to time to try to take a deep breath. Also I notice when I have that episode in the morning I feel so tired and want to yawn all the time. And it’s so weird because I can breath it takes a seconds to focus and take a deep breath. And I don’t know what can cause this. I also going to pulmonologist in June to check my lungs.
I do also think that this might be anxiety but I tried some pills in the past and I can’t stand it. My body reacts so opposite and I can’t do it.

I spent years being advised my own breathing, similar to yours, was anxiety and yet it turned out to be my liver. I experienced liver failure while working and then years of gall stones resulting from the variety of consequences. My entire breathing is belly breathing.

THEYRE ALL ABOUT DOING NOTHING, MASTERING INACTIVITY WHEN IT COMES TO THE SENSATION NOT TRYING TO FIX IT, ENGAGING FULLY IN LIFE WITH OR WITHOUT IT, AND JUST FULLY ACCEPTING AND GIVING UP FIGHTING WHEN ITS THERE. HOPE AND HEAL FOR YOUR NERVES CLAIR WEEKES, AT LAST A LIFE PAUL DAVID, DARE BOOK FOR ANXIETY, SHAAN KASSAM ON YOUTUBE. BUT DONT FALL INTO THE TRAP OF THINKING ACCEPTANCE IS YOU TRYING SO HARD TO ACCEPT ITS REALLY PASSIVE ITS REALLY GENTLE SKILL TO ALLOW THAT DISCOMFORT TO BE THERE. IF YOU ARE TRYING TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP THE SENSATION THAT IS RESISTANCE AND WILL PROLONG THAT FEELING. MY FAVOURITE QUOTE YOU WILL NEVER GET BETTER UNTIL YOU STOP TRYING TO GET BETTER. (WHICH MEANS STOPPING THE BREATHING EXERCISES BECAUSE BY DOING IT YOUR TELLING YOUR BODY IS IN DANGER E.G IF YOU WERE IN HIGH ALTITUDE AND YOU HAD TO BREATHE CONSCIOUSLY TO SURVIVE YOUD DO SOMESORT OF HOLDING OF BREATH EXTENTION OF EXHALE IN THE SAME MANNER YOU MIGHT DO IN A BURNING BUILDING FULL OF SMOKE, YOU ARE TELLING YOUR BODY THAT YOU NEED TO CONTROL YOUR BREATHING WHICH JUST KICKS IN YOUR FIGHT/FLIGHT PRODUCING MORE ANXIETY IN BODY LEADING TO MORE OF THE RESPIRATORY PHYSICAL DISCOMFORT/SENSATIONS), JUST MY OPNINION YOU DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW MY ADVICE BUT I WENT TO ER I WENT TO COUNTLESS EXPENSIVE DOCTORS I COULDNT LEAVE THE HOUSE FOR MONTHS BECAUSE THE BREATHING MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS SUFFOCATING 24/7, PLEASE NOBODY THINK I DID NOT FEEL AS BAD AS YOU. First @melpomenea, sorry you were dealing with it. Second, I'm glad. you were able to figure out what it was and that you can breathe normally again!
I like what you said about the diaphragmatic breathing. Definitely help with breathing normal and good to use the diaphragm as much as possible when breathing.
