The Right Diagnosis: H. Pylori infection
Howdy, Ya'all!
I want to let you know that I finally have the RIGHT diagnosis. I'm on Day 10 of the 14-day treatment plan for my H. Pylori bacterial stomach infection and I feel fantastic! The abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue and weight loss are almost a thing of the past. I've gained 2 lbs of body weight since I began treatment 9 days ago! I feel like I've been given a whole new body and a second chance at life!
Thank you all for your support during this challenging, 10-month long living Hell that I wouldn't wish upon even my worst enemy.

I had a H pylori infection too and was put on antibiotics which got rid of it. I also was put on a PPI for Barrett's Esophagus which they found during the endoscopy. You have a higher chance of getting stomach cancer because you have H pylori. Go to another Dr. and get antibiotics.
Has anyone been treated with helicobacter pylori?
I have it and was given antibiotics for it(Omeprazole/Clarithromycin) but nearly 2 weeks later I'm still feeling the same. Am feeling a lot of discomfort in my tummy. Alot of tightness and feeling bloated all the time even when I'm only eating i.e an orange I'd feel bloated. Hard to sleep because of the uncomfortable feeling in my stomach.
If you've had it how did you recover from it? Or are the symptoms I'm having similar to something else happening in my stomach that should be looked at?

...oh just curious about the h.pylori and read this and did a quick check of Clarithromycin on Internet and several sites said do not have grapefruit or orange juice while taking it.... another site said dont take milk or fruit juice while on antibiotics.... maybe you could check too and also the Omeprazole: did your Pharmacy give you an information sheet with the drugs with side effects etc? J.
Hi. Were you given 14 days or 7 days triple treatment therapy ( Amoxcilline + Clarithomyclin + omeprazole all twice a day).
I was given 7 days but it did not clear the bacteria so next time had to be given 14 day treatment which cleared the bug.
My treatment was on October 22 and I still not fully symptoms free. Have stomach pain sometime sharp or dull on and off. Can't have anything spicy , sour or heavy to digest. Still having pantoprazole 40mg per day to control acidity which has never returned to normal because of this bacteria.
Try to manage with bland diet and antacid. Hopefully this will help heal any damage done to stomach lining by the bacteria. Good luck
I was on antibiotics and omeprozol, I will suggest to stay away from caffeine, milk, tomatoes and red meats. I m feeling better now.
Omg I didn't think anyone would reply ty I will check them out greatly appreciated!
From memory the info sheet was only what my meds were and even on the box it just says to take one or two twice a day with food or best taken 30 mins before food but nothing on side affects. wish I had kept the sheet to confirm. If it did mention side effects I would've avoided eating an orange/s sometimes with my meds bc it's the one fruit I can eat on the daily regardless of the issues going on in my stomach. I didn't know to avoid OJ and should've checked for side effects so
thank you I will double check online.
Because I still felt there wasn't much of any improvement my lovely Dr has put me back on my antibiotics for longer you're right was only for a week. By the sounds of other responses and yours too I may not be keeping away from the right foods. Your symptoms sounds like me too and will try the diet suggested. Thank you so so much for the feedback! Just an fyi because of what I'm going through I can't sit still long enough without feeling sore and uncomfortable and I'm only on mobile so please excuse me for taking long to respond back but am so appreciative for yr help and others 🙂
Glad to hear you're feeling better which means there's still hope for me! I've discovered judging from those that responded and yourself, that I'm not avoiding certain foods which could be the reason why I'm not feeling any better. Didn't know oj was something to avoid now caffeine which I have sometimes so tysm for your help! Greatly appreciated
