Scrambler therapy uses a machine that generates specific electrical impulses to retrain your brain in the way it perceives certain signals(pain). From what I've seen, it involves getting hooked up to the machine using multiple surface electrodes. The session lasts about an hour(or less) and requires ten sessions. The signals are designed to turn pain signals into non-pain signals. If, at the end of the first five sessions, you do not receive any benefit, you are discontinued from treatment. The process if FDA cleared but is not yet covered by insurance. The cost is about three thousand dollars, give or take, depending upon the clinic. I have just applied for treatment and am waiting for approval. It means traveling three hours to the nearest clinic. Hope this gives you a better idea of what it is.
