Suprapubic catheter placed 5 weeks ago due to enlarged bladder/urinary retention causing bilateral hydronephrosis. Also had TURP done a year ago. Hoping to have a new catheter placed so I can eliminate bag at least during day and empty my bladder every 2-3 hours. Also diagnosed with stage 3 CKD. I am told the catheter will be with me for life but will save my kidneys. Recent labs show kidney functions improving. Would love to get back to activities like traveling, hiking and pickleball which I use to play 3-4 times a week pre catheter.
Anyone else have similar conditions or suggestions?
