Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

There seems to be huge variance in what doctors are recommending after Evinity: types of drugs and number of dosages of them. It makes it confusing and stressful as you start wondering if they even know (the drug is fairly new) what is best to do. I know I feel insecure about it.
I was told about Reclast after Evenity but got a completely unacceptable response when I asked if I would be making a lifetime commitment. I was told that we could discuss this after I started the program. I got more info after mentioning making an informed decision.
I believe only two meds are recommended after Evenity: Prolia and Reclast (or if not tolerated, a less potent bisphosphonate).
My doc says I will have one Reclast (it should be right after stoppjng Evenity, Tymlos, Forteo or Prolia) and with monitoring, might be able to take a break.
The key is monitoring, by DEXA and by blood tests such as the P1NP and collagen CTX.
I just started Evenity after being on and off Fosamax for years. numbers are very bad. I am having some side effects: soreness mainly. I am hoping my body will get used to these side effects. I am icing my back doing regular exercise (including lots of walking and light weights). I may try a monthly massage to relieve muscle ache. I am very petite and only weigh about 105 on a good day.
Just started Evenity after years on and off fosamax. My numbers are pretty bad so hope this helps. Slight swelling and rash at injection site and some muscle soreness. Do side effects tend to diminish with time?
I am considering a switch to Evenity after an awful reaction last year to Reclast- ended up in the hospital with severe debilitating back muscle spasms; clearly anxious about taking any Osteoporosis meds now.
I hope Evenity helps you!
@egglaw then what do you do after Evenity? Can you tolerate a different bisphosphonate?
I am facing Reclast as a follow-up and nervous 🙂
Is your soreness only at injection site? Or, all over?
The soreness and slight rash at the injection sites only lasted about 3 days. I used cortaid for the slight rash. Then about 3 days after my first injections I began to have back and neck pain and it is still there. I am trying gentle back exercises and will start round the clock tylenol to see if that helps. Hoping it is temporary. The pain is more like a functional pain- it doesn't bother me when I am still. Am thinking massage might help so will give that a try.
I was told I would have choices of what would follow after a year on Evenity. My doctor thought prolia twice a year indefinitely would probably be best for me.
