Stool changes
Hello all,
I've had a strange yellow gelatinous material in my stool for the past few months, on and off, and I see it more often when I have diarrhea. It may happen once a week or more often, not sure, but I just see it more clearly when I have diarrhea, which happens not every day but maybe once a week or so. When my stool is solid, my poop is often a brownish-yellowish color, and I am afraid I may have something.
Here is a picture from today's stool. My entire diarrhea was yellow and this material was dispersed throughout, and I had a sore throat today as well (unrelated?):

Thanks so much @thatgirl I really appreciate it 🙏🏼
@imatine, I agree with @that_girl and @fourof5zs. If the changes persist, consult your surgeon. Any difference in your stool today?

So I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago. About 6 months ago my poop had become a lighter brown color but is now a very pale tan color. I haven't had much of an appetite for the past few days. I don't know if I should go to the ER or just make an appointment with my primary doctor which could mean waiting 2 weeks. Anyone have any advice?
@kariw89 Hi. Sometimes lighter stool can indicate lack of bile but it would be best to let your medical professional investigate this. You don't mention any other symptoms but if you are in pain or have any other issues such as nausea, loss of appetite, weakness, dizziness, jaundice, fever, etc., you might want to go to the ER to check it out and relieve any symptoms then follow up with your own doc afterwards.
@kariw89, did you have a chance to talk with your doctor yet? What did you learn?
Hello, I think it is important that you either follow up with your gastroenterologist or go to the emergency room to see if they can find out what's going on because sometimes lighter stool can mean liver disease and because you had your gallbladder removed, one of the main concerns is bile duct injury after surgery. I would suggest following up with those two sources. There could be an infection or you might need to start a probiotic. Go from there.
Hi,
I've had a lot of stomach and colon discomfort lately. This morning I had 4 bowel movements give or take. Not sure about the initial ones but on the last one the stools were all bent in a sharp U shape. Any ideas on what that might indicate?
Thanks!
Scott
