I have Stage 1A grade 1 endometrial cancer

May I ask what your symptoms were before being diagnosed? Abnormal bleeding? And for how long before , I guess they did biopsy? Will u have to take hormones now? Hope you don't mind sharing your journey . Thank you.

Before i was diagnosed i have been complaining of mild stomachache everyday and a bit dizzy everytime i get up in the morning, low appetite that causes me losing weight. Been to my doctor and the ultrasound is normal so she did not refer me for further evaluation. Until last year by October i had spotting for 3days. I went to my gyne and she took biopsy sample and did the paptest. The result came hpv+ and endometrial cancer. Had my mri and chest xray all negative then referred me to a gyne oncologist. I did not have any family history of cancer. The surgery done 4days ago and the pathology came today. I have not spoken with my doctor yet as my follow up appointment with him is on the 19th. The result just came in the mychart account.

@jessy0628 What a frightening birthday gift that must have been. I can tell you I was in shock and very frightened when my doctor told me my diagnosis. I felt a little relieved once there was a plan in place to see a gyn-oncologist surgeon. That happened so quickly that I barely had time to worry and think about what might happen. Like you, I learned after surgery that my endometrial cancer (endometrioid adenocarcinoma) was Stage 1a, Grade 1.

I’m so happy for you that the endometrial cancer was staged 1a with grade 1. That’s so encouraging. It’s now time for you to heal and take care of yourself. I was mostly just tired after my surgery. I didn’t have any pain when I came home but I did sleep a lot for about a week.

When you see your gyn-oncologist next week I’m hopeful that no other treatment is recommended. Your doctor will likely give you your survival plan with all of your medical information related to the endometrial cancer and the follow-up appointments that are recommended and referred to as cancer surveillance. This is so heartwarming to hear, it comfort and eased my worries. Im at my 5dpo now and i am more alert and full of energy. I have been walking more inside the house and as much as i want to sleep i cant, i am having a hard time getting sleep during the day and even at night. I dont know why i even taking the tylenol pm at night but doesnt help. I will definitely comeback here after my appointment to my doctor to update about my case. I am hoping that i wont have any further treatment after this surgery. Best wishes to us all.

Hello! My doctor explained about my pathology report, i dont need further treatment i just have to go and see him every 6mos for monitoring. I asked about hrt but he cant advise me that because my estrogen receptor result is positive, so to prevent from reoccuring he decided not to give any hrt but he said he can prescribe me one that is not hormonal which will help in hot flashes. I'll see him again in 4weeks.

@jessy0628 This is all good news! It’s good to know that your doctor addressed the menopausal symptoms including hot flashes and that you will go back in 4 weeks and then every six months for check-ups. Thank you for letting us know. Do you have any plans to celebrate this good news this weekend?

I’m mostly concerned about cardiovascular disease, bones density issues, and dementia. My 3 month follow up is in two weeks 🙏🏼 Take care.

@angierivas1 hi! Praise God for the good pathology report which everyone wishing for. Ues just like you i am concerned about osteoporosis too thats why i started taking calcium supplement a week ago and i have been on statins for lowering cholesterol because i had high a year ago. My doctor suggested about the black cohost just incase the hot flashes dont go away in few weeks but i told him i wait after my next appointment and maybe we can try the one he mentioned. Hello all, so my 6th week post op appointment with my onco just done last week and since i cant have any hormone pill as i am estrogen receptor positive, he gave me paxil to treat menopausal symptoms as i am having hor flashes esp at night time. I havent taken this drug as i am concerned about the side effects. Has anyone in the group been prescribed with the same pill? Right now i am taking my calcium to prevent osteoporosis and CoQ10 for heart health. He further advised if i want to try the black cohost instead of taking the paxil. Any thoughts on this? Thanks again
