Who has taken Vraylar for Major Depression?
Just started 1.5mg last night and I’ve read a lot of post on different forums and it seems to break down 50% “it’s helpful” & 50% “it’s horrible.” I’ve taken too many drugs to mention over the last 18 years, plus tried ECT and Ketamine infusions but I can’t quiet the depression. Hoping for feedback. I’m Also on 3600mg gabapentin and 12.5mg Amitryptiline for nerve pain and 1mg Clonazepam for anxiety. I’m nervous about this drug.

The weight gain isn’t good either. I’ve gone up a pant size since I’ve been on it. But even with that, I will still take it since it’s the only MDD drug that’s helped. Amazing mood difference
Thank you for sharing your experience. It can be hard to evaluate if the pros of a drug outweigh the side effects. I am still waiting to see if Vraylar lifts my mood enough to make the restlessness worth it.
@emkaf I hope it helps your mood. Mine is so much better since I’ve been on it
It has helped me a Lil bit with my mood I'm still depressed but they just up the dose on it so I'll see how that works
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. My husband is 50 years young. Like you, he has been off and on anti psychotic and anti depression drugs for years now. He's been on the Vraylar 3mg at least a couple years. He's gone downhill ever since. The psych doctor who managed his meds seemed to have been having "opening the new practice blues" issues so her front end person stopped communicating for some reason. We gave up trying to figure out why and looked for other care. If course prescriptions need updating in the interim. This lead us using the primary care doctor to prescribe meds in the meantime. Not good. No referrals to psych or decent suggestions even. Everytime we made an appt it was with another person in the practice. Then in the meantime he had other severe medical issues that took priority over getting the psych meds... Not to mention having my own serious medical issues... Kinda like the blind leading the blind. So we finally get a new primary care for him. She has lowered his dose to titrate him off and also referral to a psych doc in the meantime. He moves his body and face constantly. It's heartbreaking! Vision disturbance. Sweats. Chills. Constant headache from constant jaw movement and face grimacing. He can only sleep --try to. We have one income now due to his health issues. I know this hurts him a lot being unable to contribute to the household because he was never a lazy man. I just want him to feel better. He hasn't felt good in years. I can say wholeheartedly that I feel the Vraylar is the culprit. I'm happy that it works for some though. Let's just pray for one another... I wish you well...
