Post COVID: Anyone experiencing internal vibrations?
I have had long covid for over two years and a symptom began sporadically during the initial seven weeks that has worsened since a second covid experience. It began as a “flutter” in my chest upon waking, lasting 5 seconds or so. It is not painful just a new sensation I have never experienced. After getting covid again in February 2022, the internal vibrations have become full body and go on for forty seconds. It is always upon waking or falling asleep temporarily during meditation and waking again. Long Covid retired me from my profession and I am not under any stress. I had a recent cardiac incident (also due to long Covid) and wore a Holter monitor. I triggered it whilst having an IV incident: definitely not cardiac induced. Has anyone else experienced IV like this?

Has anyone in this conversation been invited to or suggested that you attend the Pain Rehab Program (PRC) due to long Covid symptoms? Like I’m reading from many of you, I’ve had a lot of the same symptoms you’re discussing. Too many to mention! Mayo Clinic Jacksonville was my “gotta do something to get better” after 2-1/2 years post Covid. My symptoms led me to make neurological appt which was +6 months waiting list. Meanwhile I fell apart one day on the phone and was routed to the post Covid clinic and assigned to Dr Bala Munipalli… God bless her sweet soul! Lots of steps and appts later I agreed to and was quickly enrolled in the PRC under Dr Christopher Sletten. What a Godsend!
Anyway my point is that if you haven’t been or haven’t heard of the program, do yourself a huge favor and look into it. It is held in Minnesota and in Florida. I promise you it will help you!
Are your tremors only on one side or all over? Unfortunately, most providers don't recognize any connection between Covid-19 and tremors. In my case, they are telling me that it's an essential tremor, which I can't believe that it's not conected to Covid since it started 3 weeks after recovering from my second bout of Covid. Also dealing with brain fog which has been present since 3 months after my first infection.
I was on propranolol ER 60 mg for the essential tremor, but the drop in my HR forced me to discontinue. I was not getting any relief with the tremors, so I was in agreement with the decision to stop. Still looking for help on curing my condition rather than treating the symptom. After an unremarkable MRI of the brain, my neurologists referred me for focused ultrasound for the tremor, but that doesn't take care of the brain fog.
The tremors are whole body! From head to feet. It started 1 month after I had Covid the 2nd time. Ashwaghanda, Omega 3 oils, and L theanine have helped tremendously! Also, a low processed sugar and gluten diet as well. The tremors have remained for almost 2 years at this point. Thankfully it’s not debilitating. It’s more annoying than anything else.
Hi all. Please hang in there knowing we are all experiencing very real unusual symptoms. My post covid journey-previously very healthy and active, after year of really difficult nights which definitely affected days, finally had post covid clinic doctor who ordered sleep study. This verified many of my bodies post covid everchanging complete organ systems issues, not just apnea, and now have cpap to help with oxygen deprivation and tracks any “events” which can be greater than 21 an hour☹️. Not cure, yet step to show what we are all sharing and hopeful constant use will start to help🤞 Healing to all🌈
I'm experiencing very similar symptoms. Please share if anyone found any treatment options.
I had severe COVID in Jan 2021. But I recovered fully from it. No weird symptoms after recovering from COVID. 7 months later, in July 2021 I received my 2 COVID-shots (Moderna). 2 weeks after the COVID shots I woke up with severe internal vibrations. And they have not gone away since then. It is a daily thing. When the internal vibrations started in Aug 2021. They are concentrated in my neck, back/shoulders and arms. I spent thousands of dollars in copayments and deductibles for MRIs. MRAs, CT Scan and consulting with neurologists, but no help. I also saw a physical medicine doctor who put me on Gabapentin. it helped a bit, but I was worried that I will get hooked on Gabapentin for life.
A few months ago, a found a doctor who prescribed low dose of naltrexone (started with 2 mg and slowly increased to 6 mg daily before going to bed). I stopped gabapentin once I started LDN. LDN has relieved day time internal vibrations. Now, I only feel it after going to bed at night and when I wake up in the morning. They go away after 10/15 minutes once I start walking around.
I also noticed that light exercise helps to calm down the vibrations. I'm also practicing deep breathing/meditation, long walks, etc.
BTW: I also have severe tinnitus (high pitch sound) in my right ear. Again, no cure for it.
I have had Long Covid for 3yrs & experience sensations kind of like the after shocks of a minor electric shock through my face & arm. They're random. They happened A lot in the beginning of my LC & I just had them come up again this year. Dr's just look at me weird &move on. I have not gotten any REAL help fro ANY of my 15+ debilitating symptoms that are unpredictable. It's more than frustrating. I really feel the Dr's don't believe me... Hope you are well soon!
Is there a known connection between neurological issues like tremors/jerks and inflammation? Any experience with anti-inflammatories as treatment?
No, you are not just "aging like everyone else". Please LISTEN to your body and your symptoms. You know yourself well. And please skip any boosters in the future. I also use alternative care and have had great results -- have you tried chiropractic, since it directly supports the nervous system? Cold plunges/ice baths might also be a solution, but of course listen to your own intuition. I do ice baths/cold plunges even though I have had long haul related heart palpitations -- it has only helped because it is a "reset" for the nervous system. I wish you all the best!
I, too, have experienced whole-body tremors for 2 yrs now, since I got covid the 1st time. I believe, for me, the tremors are caused by these two main issues that took months & years to pinpoint. 1. Low ferritin (low iron stores) and 2. A 21-month-long battle with chronic sphenoid sinusitis which, it turned out, started with a fungal ball in my sphenoid sinus. The only way to get rid of a fungal ball is through surgery. When my ENT performed the surgery, that's when he discovered it wasn't just fluid & mucus build-up, but it was actually a fungal ball. He said it was such a severe case, the fungal ball was causing changes in the bones in that area of my head/sinuses! Then he understood why I'd been experiencing debilitating headaches in the back of my head, tremors, 24/7 vertigo, weakness, fatigue, & extreme mobility/gait issues.
Since my June 15 surgery, I no longer have the headaches, my vertigo is reduced, my gait is improved, and my tremors are reduced. I believe my remaining tremors/internal vibrations are still present because my ferritin continues to drop even after 18 months on iron supplements. I'll be discussing this with my GP at my upcoming appt.
Pkease have your ferritin checked (if you haven't done so) and perhaps see an ENT to see if you have a fungal ball. I have read articles that state covid does cause fungal balls in the sinuses. Good luck to you!
is this helping the internal vibrations once the sleep test was done? Mine was ordered for me as well
