Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

@normahorn I have seen it described that way- "coating the bones." Recently I read that Reclast does a better job of that then orals. Reclast affects bone turnover, as you probably know, meaning it suppresses the osteoclasts that cause resorption. I am not sure how that "coats the bones"! Thanks for asking- a question for our docs!
When Evenity was first proposed for me, I was asking numerous medical professionals for their opinion. One pharmacist commented that the older osteoporosis drugs coated bones leaving the interior still brittle. She may have been completely mistaken but I can not shake that thought.
Hello Chris,
Can you please let me know how I can go about messaging you directly on this support group? I tried clicking on your name with no luck in finding a route to send you a message. Thank you in advance for your help
I will start Evinity in a couple weeks. My doctor said after 1 year of Evinity, I will need 1 Reclast shot to keep the gains I make.
@normahorn your pharmacist was referring to bisphosphonates and Prolia, not Forteo or Tymlos, just to clarify!
I really knew that But bisphosphates come after Evenity. Not interested in taking something that only puts a surface coating on bones.
After one year one IV injection
Can you explain more
And then?
I start Evenity on May 23. Feeling optimistic.
I don't know any more. The dr. simply said 1 full year of Evinity and then (I assume a bit of space between) and then 1 dose of Reclast, just one, to keep Evinity gains in place.
I was told possibly 3 years of Reclast followed by a 2 year holiday.
