I would be just about healed if not for this lingering swelling under the incision. Like a water balloon. I have my balance and strength already and can easily stroll around the house without any assistance. Sitting in a non cushy chair or car seat is difficult after a few minutes as the incision is still very uncomfortable. Very frustrating as it doesn’t seem to disappearing any time soon. I saw my surgeon for this on 5/7 and he was not concerned. Said it was a slowly absorbing hematoma.. I see my surgeon again on 5/16 at the 4 week mark... anyone else struggle with lingering swelling?

Hi @lucas1954 - I want to add my welcome to Ethan's. Glad you are on connect. I have had two TKRs but not a hip replacement. Thankfully, I didn't have problems with too much swelling. I'm wondering- have you checked with your physical therapist about his or her ideas on how to reduce the swelling? In my experience, those folks are a gold mine of information! Best of luck. Please keep us posted.
