Questions to ask with a new Bronchiectasis diagnosis

Posted by wsbme74 @wsbme74, May 12, 2023

Hello. I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis about a month ago (lifelong mild-moderate asthma) and have been trying to do a deep dive into literature - and awesome, informed, support groups like this one!

I am curious about those with the diagnosis in terms of "What would you ask a doctor at your first specialist visit?" (I am traveling to Boston next week), and "What do you wish you had known/asked and didn't?" We will be doing the standard testing (sweat test has been done; some blood work; and I am still trying to get a decent mucus sample).
So, I guess I am looking for a bit of a Brainstorming session! I have a list of bulletpointed questions to ask to be organized in the short time that insurance seems to demand of medical visits. Thanks!

@wsbme74 The question of what to ask is certainly a common one - I wish I had known about Connect when I was diagnosed!
The American Lung Association has just what you need:

What I do is take the list and customize it for my needs - yesterday I met a new primary provider, and she was happy I had it.
