Hello Teri@tcs!

Thank you for posting this event. My name is Susan Williams and I am the co-founder of iPivot-now. We are thrilled to be hosting our 3rd event with Dr. Fishman May 18-21, at noon ET. It is a live event and is free to attend live via Zoom. Both my business partner (also a PT) and I (a holistic nutritionist) have been certified to teach Dr. Fishman, MD's, clinically studied program. In addition to Dr. Fishman, we will be talking about nutrients that matter for bone health, improving posture and how to avoid fractures.

Thank you again!
Susan

Hi @susanmariewilliams, thank you for your post. I am looking forward to this four day event. I've been doing Dr. Fishman's Yoga poses, first and second series, for about eight months. My only concern is the time the seminars start. I have to be up at 6:00 am Hawaii time. Auwe! as we say on the islands.

Hi Susan, @susanmariewilliams, I don't know if you follow the Osteoporosis focused discussions here at Mayo Clinic Connect. Nutrients are of interest. There is a lot of discussion of strontium citrate (not ranelate) increasing bone density, fooling the dexa scan, etc. One member has posted that her spinal fractures have stopped since she started taking it. Also, taking calcium is controversial. What types are best? What about combatting osteoporosis when you've had to take prednisone or other steroid for an autoimmune disorder? Finally, is there any guidance about getting off a prescription drug for osteoporosis? Thank you, Teri
