in reply to @catlove30 Have you tried the lozenges for dry mouth? You can find them in the toothpaste section of the grocery store. Also, Biotene makes a good mouth spray and gel which I have found to be helpful.
Thank you!!
I have suffered from dry mouth after cancer treatment. My doctor prescribes pilocarpine Rx. 1 /3’s per day. It has helped but not cured it.
I also use biotene at night.
Dry mouth can lead to dental problems, so it is important to manage that. I use the Oral B Dry Mouth wash (no alcohol; xylitol is anti-bacterial) for several hours of relief. I do brush my teeth twice daily, particularly before bed. Waterpik is also useful. For daytime, I use biotene spray, lozenges or sugar free hard candy. I get a dental exam and cleaning every six months, to keep repercussions at bay.
You could try Xylimelts and Therabreath lozenges. I had dry mouth really badly when I first got burning mouth syndrome and those helped a lot..
I make sure I take good care of my teeth as well. Cleaning every 6 months, no cavaties! Thank you for your input!!
I understand completely. That is, indeed, part of my problem!!! Thank you for your input!!
My Dentist recommended coconut oil for a dry mouth. 2 tablespoons shush and spit out.
Thank you…. That’s one thing I haven’t tried! I’ll try it.
I had a horrific fall tripping over an above ground tree root. I ended up having two cracked ribs, face cuts, and whiplash to my back and spine. My doctor prescribed both 100 MG Gabapentin and 5 MG Cyclobenzaprine. I truly believe my dry mouth at night is caused by these medicines. Dry mouth is just horrible! I am glad I saw this article because I really thought I was alone. I plan on trying some of the suggestions from all of you. Thank you
